Hi,
I am new here. I am trying to figure out what these wires and connectors are for, and what do I connect them to on a 1983 Toyota FJ40.
I am asking about the connector on my hand, not the one for the washer fluid pump. I removed the washer and the radiator tanks to take this picture...
I'm doing an alternator conversion to a Chevy alternator on a '75 FJ40. Original Toyota alternator was using a 17mm wide (approx. 5/8") V-belt. Chevy alternator pulley is sized for a 3/8 V-belt. Where would I find a wide pulley for a Chevy alternator?
I thought about using the pulley from...
Looking at FJ40's lately. Been scrolling through the build and tech threads to try to gain some knowledge. Just in the last month, reading through some threads, I'm already noticing things on some online listings which I had no idea about before I found this site.
My price point is pretty...
Pulled from a 1965 many, MANY years ago. This core has the dimpled top tank and wrap around mounting bracket common to the early rigs. The inlet and outlet will obviously need to be replaced. My local radiator guy has never had a problem doing that.
$100 for the core. $100 for the core support...

1966 Toyota FJ 40 Landcruiser. Mostly original. The engine was replaced some time in the 70's...
I am looking for a Full Float rear end this would be for my 1977 FJ40, I don't need the diff. Prefer western US location. If anyone has one they would part with let me know.
Thanks
I was sitting in my Cruiser letting it idle to warm it up. Long story, but I apparently had a fuel leak that ignited. The engine compartment is burned. All the wiring and everything rubber and plastic under the hood is gone. Damage inside the cab does not seem all that bad. The dash pad is...
Hey all, see photo below of how my windshield is sitting in relation to my door these days. WS is not in place on the door at the moment, so I'm assuming this is all due to an old windshield gasket that isn't compressing fully? Dash screws are fully screwed in too.
If somebody has an extra floating around and can throw it in an envelope I’m willing to compensate :) pic to show the exact linkage courtesy of SOR. Zip code 99669. Thanks
I've been poking around Alibaba and noticing a lot of reproduction 40 parts, from past experience with Chinese suppliers (fidget spinners hahahah) I know quality can be questionable at best. Has anyone ever tried to source a steel 40 roof? I've seen one at a local shop here in Portland but...
Well, just bought this one. Worked when installed and now doesn’t 2 weeks later. ISO another to determine if it’s the switch or wiring. Validated that power goes to the switch, but doesn’t come back out to power the turn signals. Anyone have one of these laying around? Planning to take this one...
These are the last bits of parts i have from my fj40 that i wont be using. I can only assume everything is from a 65ish and 1F engine. i can take more pictures for those interested and i will ship parts.
The wiring harness has a few splices and cuts but can only assume its all or mostly there...
Not mine, but here you go... There's some history on it if that helps.
I nearly bought it for $7K from another gentleman in IA and the frame along with it that needed swapped. I should have done it, but I didn't. That's a mistake on my part. He swaps the frame and tries to sell it with...
Restored front seats out of my 80 FJ40. Sand blasted and POR-15, new foam where needed (surprisingly not much), new Cruiser Corps upholstery. Free local pickup near Tampa, FL. Shipping will be expensive, No way to calculate until destination is known. Thanks for looking.
Over the last couple of days I started the roof rehab. I’m actually pretty happy. The rain gutter trim isn’t totally rusted out and needs little repair work. The shell itself, that’s another story…
Any advice on working on the shell? I’ve considered buying one of the bathtub refinishing kits...
Finally installed the cable and pedal to match the Weber carb.
Original carb and cleaner set up were long gone when i picked her up in 2009. Had a small Carter on there.
Throttle had to push/pull rods and linkages and so was a lot of slop in gas pedal. Enough to make it very difficult to...
