    Serpentine belt tensioner movement

The bearing on the engine fan of my 2003 LX470 started to make noise, and actually gave out while I was showing it to the mechanic. The mechanic replaced both the COOLING FAN MOUNT SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER though I don't know if the serpentine belt itself was replaced. I've just called and...

    Drivers Seat Belt wont retract

Like the title says, my drivers seat belt will no longer retract on its own. It can still be lifted and kind of fed back in but has gotten worse over the last year. Is there a fix for this or am I going to need to replace the seat belt? Can this still be purchased new if so? Thank you!

Hey all, Can the belt tensioner on a 2011 be replaced without removing the radiator & fan & everything, or is it a more complicated job? Not sure if it is a lot of work, or if I just haven’t figured out the magic moves yet. Thanks! Abe

SBC Power Steering and Belt Accessory Help

Hey guys, a previous owner did a Chevy engine swap with saginaw steering. Lots of the accessory brackets were home brew and not really right, so I want to replace everything and start over. Also on my to-do list is installing a sniper FI kit along with an entire new wiring harness. Apologies...

    Timing concern after timing belt!!

Hey everyone! Does anyone else have a crank pulley that doesn’t line up exact even though the other 3 marks are lined up? (Oil pump dot and both cams) I checked and rechecked before pulling the pin. Rotated the motor a ton by hand and the 3 marks still line up but the pulley doesn’t show 0...

Fan Belt OEM part #s for 1986 FJ60

Hello All- I am in the process of getting a set of fan belts for my '86 FJ60. It's an American market rig with A/C and has been de-smogged using a JimC idler pulley. My rig was built in 'Mar. 1986' per the data plate in the drivers side B pillar. One one hand, I would think the below Toyota...

Compelling reason to do the timing belt at or before 100k miles

Or at least do a partial disassembly/inspection. Here's the OEM water pump I bought from the dealer last time. 140k miles on it, had been leaking for awhile with no signs elsewhere. The thermostat housing groove is perfect for an o-ring, 2-034, stays put in the groove with a little goop...

Mister Blue's 1HZ timing belt - is there a date code on these?

Hi all, I just collected Mister Blue, a 2003 105, to daily for a week or two before it goes back in. I parked the truck right after inspection and registration for fear of a timing belt failure. This poor old truck has been out in the UAE sun for a long time and all the rubber has gone bad...

Belt squeal, but only when moving?

Howdy! Gonna be a tough one, as this is an underway noise. as mentioned, I randomly started getting a squeal/squeak/chirp from the front end. With windows up driving slowly sounds like chirping birds. It only occurs when the vehicle in in motion, gets louder with higher rpm/speed. The sound...

    Belt snapped after 300000klm service

So I had my LX470 at the Lexus dealership for its 300000 klm major service (timing belt etc). On the drive home I stop through a drive through for lunch and roll the window down, the car is making a terrible sound. I roll forward maybe 10 metres to the window and the sound gets loud enough to...

HJ61 - Can I remove AC belt & run without harm?

I am trying to chase down a new noise under the hood. Its a sort of "swish" sound that may be either bearing or clutch related on the AC compressor. It cropped up at the end of a long road trip recently. As far as I can tell its coming from the AC compressor pully area. Can I remove the AC Belt...

    1hz timing belt Tenensioner changes

In the process of doing my timing belt, ordered all the genuine bits and I noticed there is a change in the backing plate behind the timing belt Tenensioner.
