So today I tore out the front axle so that I could lower my truck back to stock height by putting the axle on top of the leaf springs. Funny, I have never noticed that my axle tube has been cut and welded to the axle knuckle end. Looks shortsighted. Any thoughts? Could it have been narrowed...

2 shackles. 3/8 thick plates. 4-13/16 between pin centers. Dont recall how long these were installed. Really just cad plate worn off where they contact the bushings. All hardware included $50 plus shipping.

We have 84k miles on our 2006 LC. The dealer says the front CV boots are leaking (I can see grease all over the axles), axle looks good. Local shop says axles are so cheap now, that we should also replace them too (since there MAY be damage). We don't do any off-road driving, if that matters.
