The Raisin is now officially in "parting out" mode.

After 15 years of epic adventures, she sleeps with the fishes.....

Now I can concentrate on my dual 1985 trucks.

@beno It is pretty incredible to think that, that one truck has really had such a huge developmental role in your life. Without a Land Cruiser where would you be today?

Yup, spot on Ryan.

Imagine that when I first bought my 80 I was a doctoral candidate finishing my dissertation in philosophy (some of you knew me back then).

And then a phone call with @cruiserdan changed everything.

And here I am today.

Man, that's wild! Did you end up finishing the degree?

there's a good book idea somewhere in this story..

awesome pics and memories Beno. I hope i never follow down your path and move away from my 80 :) it's just too special to me because of what you just showed everyone. The trips and memories... along with curse words and busted knuckles, are priceless.

I bought and imported a diesel 70 series from Japan about a year ago. It had 88,000 km on it. It was spotless. Had every intention of giving my 80 to my son and driving the 70. Drove the 70 for a few months and realized it is no 80. It is a fine vehicle but not an 80. The 70 is gone. The 80 lives on. And bought another 92 80 for my son.

I look at my few months with the 70 like how I imagine an affair. It was fun. It was new. It was exciting. It was different. And then it got complicated. I had to learn her idiosyncrasies. I had to learn what she liked. I didn't want to learn. I wanted to get in and drive. The 80 is my soulmate. :slap:

Bought yet another 1. Total is now up to 5 (not counting a fj cruiser ) . 3 - 80's & 2-40's. Wifey is not real happy . Tried to convince her it was a birthday present for her. This one.....Guy threw a rod through the side of the block. Parts truck! ! View attachment 1125939View attachment 1125941

If you are planning on selling parts..... I would be interested in the front bumper and accessories.
