That was odd, not sure why all the copies of the two pics I attached but I can't edit the post as I'm new to this forum. Hopefully the moderator will jump in and fix that previous post.

...3. Stormtrooper? (credit for that goes to Trapper50Cal, one of the prior owners)

He was named Norman while I owned him ;) And he does look like a stormtrooper now
more than ever. But hey, you cut the check, and you have the keys...it's entirely up to you!

Previous Toyota owner ('87 Toyota 4x4 P/U 22RET w/R151F and '96 4Runner 4x4) and finally was able to make the move and bring one home. Excited to get started with PM, baseline stuff and overall feeding the addiction!

Great site.

Not from the US, but wanted to share one of my 2 80's as my first post.
1997
103K kms (64K miles)
ARB front bumper
Slee Rear bumper with tire carrier and modified Jerry can holder.
OME Suspension
Locally made Roof Basket.
ARB RTT
Warn 12K Winch
Had 35" but got sick of the scrubbing and it being too slow so switched to 33"

These are some pictures I found, ill take some better and recent ones and post them.

I recently sold a 1998 Land Cruiser FJ73 with only 80K kms (50K miles) in prestige condition. Bought it to its first owner in Oct 2014, the guy was a maniac caring for his car, I actually think it was better than new. But it was way too good, felt sorry for taking it off road, modifying it, etc. So I sold it. (ill attach some pictures) Ended up buying another 80, just got it last week. Its a single owner 100K kms (62K miles) in awesome condition. I am going to fit an OME 2.5", wheels, tyres, and load bars for a tent. Try to keep it as original looking as possible. Tomorrow will be getting the suspension, ill post some pics!

How do you like driving with the Creepy crawlers on roads? I had 37s on mine 80 and they were great off road but turned the truck into a washer machine when driving on road specially when it was cold.
Nice rigs.

Yeah, it was completely useless. I switched to 33" MTs and are much better, but still, I do more overland travel than serious off road, so I'm considering switching to 33"ATs. Gonna try those out in the new 80

Same boat over here... Switched to 35s ATs and I'm very very happy with them. They might not give the "cool look " as the Creppy or any other MT do but I'm all for functionality now ( or may be I'm just old ).
Cheers

Hey Everyone, After lurking on mud for a long time I picked up my LX450 off here over the summer. I've been in the process of base lining everything since (did the distributor o-ring last weekend).

5. Just 33 inch tires so far. This needed some work when I first got it, that's where all the mod resources have been going until I'm happy with it
6. Used as a DD on the weekends, hunting/camping trips

Bought her last weekend. A bit of a project, lots of little things to tackle but the bones are good. Gonna get that rhino-line nonsense off and some proper flares back on too.

Hello there, been wanting an 80 since 2003 and bought a brand new Tacoma 4x4 then instead. I've always been more into VW diesels and have a 2012 TDI 6MT as my DD, but with kids and always being around Tahoe, Downieville, and Mammoth camping and mountain biking, and camping I wanted an 80. The timeless body style, ruggedness the perfect size made me bite the bullet three months ago...the pull was too great :) I wanted a project to tinker and fix and a project for my son and I., and a proper mountain righ to schlep the mountain bikes, boats n kayaks in, and camp in. Found this 2 owner Cali rig in Tahoe. Goint through it and doing RM fixing water leaks and adding some upgrades.

3. Don't know...
4. 110k (now 112k)
5. Previous owner did headgasked, full front axle rebuild, all fluids, new BFGoodrich ATs. Lots of routine maintenance has been done since i purchased it. Just added Bilstein 5100 shocks, OME med. springs, stabilizer, non winch ARB (which i prefer to winch version and will modify). Near future plans, adding Prinsudesign rack next week, 4x4labs rear with carrier, upgrade ALL lighting, sound system, new seats w/heaters, e-locker, new carpet and sound proofing entire rig once the weather is better and i can gut the interior.

Thanks to all that contribute on this forum--lots on valuable info to be found here!

Hello everyone! I'm excited about joining the Land Cruiser world after driving Mitsibishi Monteros (Gen 3 and Gen 2), a Jeep, and a Tacoma. I just found one that was maintained really well and kept super clean. I bought it yesterday and took it out with my boys today. They already asked if we can take it out next week, so they might be hooked too!

Purchased this in August 2015 from a 2nd owner enthusiast from fjbruisers.org.
Extensive service history - Toyota serviced for the first 20 years.

Couldn't be happier as a 3rd Owner.

1. Year and model: 1994 FJZ80 3xLocked, Emerald Green.
2. Name of owner: Perry
3. Name of rig: The LandCruiser. The Green Pig.
4. Mileage: 221K
5. Mods (by PO): BFG 285/75/16s, Cobra CB, Upgraded Stereo/speakers, LED interior lights, LED reverse lights.
Next: White knuckle sliders, OME lift
6. How the truck is used: Daily driver, trips to the beach, haulin' stuff.

Next on the project list: Front Axle PM, refinish wheels, recover front seats, little odds and ends. Trying to keep the projects to a minimum for now. The primary project is the 65 Mustang in the garage, which is undergoing quarter panel replacement.

I'm also the Webmaster/Admin at FORDSIX PERFORMANCE • Index page - Which is dedicated to inline engines. Mostly Fords/Chevy
but there are a lot of tech heavy topics from our members Down Under - and some Toyota mentions.
