Little north Georgia fun

Finally got around to installing the new 285s. Loving the look, plus the looks I get from the local Jeep owners.

Are those Cooper ATP's? How you like them so far? I was leaning towards the MAXX but the ATP's are much cheaper and I do spend more time on the road than off as a daily driver. Most curious if they do a decent job in the mud. Not mud tire good but good enough.

Yep, the ATP, got a great deal on eBay. Honestly havent had them off road yet. I do like the road manners though. They all balanced perfectly and are actually relatively light for a load range E tire. They do hum a little going down the road, but not bad at all.

I had the ATPs installed because of its cheap price and did not want an E rated tire after having Duratracs when I bought rims for the GX. The ATPs did not even let me climb a short hill that had light mud after it rained at Hollister. I was sliding and could not get any traction at all even at low gear.
I complained to Discount tire and they confirmed that it is not the tire for any mud driving at all. I replaced it with KO2s after less than 2000 miles on the ATPs.

Thanks, that was my main concern. My most common issue where I live is mud and snow. Probably Cooper ST MAXX for me. Plan to try the 255/75 C in the near future. Would go bigger but lift is likely years off for me. At $199/tire that is not too bad. Love the KO2s also but cost is higher.

Took the GX on a little weekend jaunt to the PA Jeeps all breeds Jeep show. It got a lot of looks and comments. Did some back road exploring on the way.
