When you're on a dark road and you can't tell if your headlights are on...and they are

Or, you know they're on because the volt meter is reading low

You know you're a 60 owner if narrow, overgrown trails don't stop you.......

You get sad when a fj80 doesn't acknowledge your awesomeness at an intersection

never gunna happen...those guys just know better than to assume too much...

Or when MUD is the first thing you look at in the AM or during a work break. Now that I think about it...it's the last thing I look at before I hit the pillow.

not just a 60 series thang...you've surrounded yourself with sick people.

Or when the first thing you check after a rainstorm is the carpet on the drivers and passenger floorboard. And if you're like me you don't even put the plugs back in the floor so you know there won't be a puddle.

You know your a 60 owner if...you suffer from sore thumbs from returning all the "thumbs up" as you drive down the road...all day, every day.

When you have saved every nut ,bolt and screw from your parts rig (sorted by poor ,good ,better ,best) and you still look at the hulk your wife might be having a hard time recognizing it's "actual value " and still have to zip cut some non rusty part "just in case"

I need to do this! Let's see some pics. What gold paint did you use?

I'm going to touch this up again. No artist that's for sure but it looks better than it did and if someone gets close enough for a visual inspection....well that just wouldn't be right.

I think new ones are something like $50 each....so there's that.

Went to a crafts store and bought a small bottle of gold paint and a couple of brushes. The "Toyota" brush being pretty fine. Rattle can semi-gloss black rustoleum.

PM your address and I'll send the gold paint and brushes.

When someone says (that's a nice land rov) and you cut them off and say it's a TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. .
Ha! A guy I worked with came in one day and said, "You've got so many great stories about your truck that I went out and got one this weekend! " In the parking lot was a Disco II. I admired it politely and said, "Every now and then somebody gets a lemon or one that wasn't well maintained. I sure hope yours works well for you!" I have no idea how it worked out for him. I got a new job not very long after. Poor guy. Cruiser, not Rover...

I bought one of those gold metallic ink pens used normally for signing greeting cards. Usually sold in a set of gold and silver, and they are super-fine point. Perfect for filling in the gold on an FJ62 rear hubcap. Far easier than fiddling with a fine brush.

I'm gonna be checking all the 2nd gens for for sale signs now

You might drive a 60 series...if you think it's nuts now much a new 2017 200 Series LandCruiser costs, but then you come to the realization that you could buy one cheaper than you could replace all the gasoline your 60 series has burned through over the years.

^^^But we are all delusional, so we will never come to any kind critical realization that questions our wisdom of ownership...Let alone how much fuel these old things burn!

So you know you're a 60 owner, but you're delusional and/or oblivious to all frailties and cost associated with ownership!

Honestly the paintbrush was a bit of a PIA. Next time I'll try your method. Let's start an OCD club...oh wait...
