I have your old fob on my key, I think I need one of these new ones for my spare...

Pricing from here forward is $80 for the rest of you slackers! :p

I'm still in awe over how many of you jumped into this right away. You beat my expectations by about 10x over. I can't wait to get these out to folks so you can start showing them off. First round of titanium parts are in my hands. They came out beautifully. Updated pics on their way soon.

Your order page said $70, the PayPal shopping cart wants to charge me $80?

You must have caught the page within seconds of the price change, or your browser cache kept displaying the old page price. Your post here is very close to when I updated the site pricing. PM incoming.

First pics of the production Titanium band. The edge has an awesome finish. Very satin-gun-metal. It's also far more durable (duh) than the aluminum prototype. I placed an order for some plastics today and I'm working with Titanium suppliers to get more sheet.

Keep in mind these photos are with a nice macro lens at about 1" away. They show far more porosity in the plastic than you'll ever notice with the naked eye. ;)

The blue has some variation in color, but it tends to be between royal blue and a slightly faded/gray "standard" blue (a little darker than BMW blue). I print the parts as pairs so the front will match the back, but I can't guarantee exactly which hue it would be.

All good, thanks. Decisions now.

Ordered, black, to match my LC.

Have you tried McMaster Carr for titanium supply? You could also try a different aluminum alloy for similar strength and less expense. Something like 5083 or 7075 would be closer to the Ti versus 6061.

I have! They tend to be pricey, but they're a great last resort. I use them for all my hardware for the fobs and storage/sleeping platforms. Since I'm using Grade 5 Titanium it's really tough to get close to it's yield strength and hardness in this application though. 7075 is about half the yield strength and hardness. I've found a pretty good source for titanium as I don't need large pieces I can use remnants from large jobs.

Compare 7075-T6 Aluminum to Grade 5 Titanium

For now, I think the relatively small price adder is worth it for the strength and hardness over the closest aluminum competitor.

Already ordered one but could you post a pic with yours next to the OEM version for a size comparison?

Great looking, functional upgrade!
