What mechanism allows for the adjustment of belt tension?

The bolt holes for the compressor are slotted for up and down movement which gives you tension.

I was looking around and saw some with serpentine pulleys. Do you think a pulley from the Supercharger set up would work with this?

Anyone with a SC willing to measure the diameter of that for me?

Sorry, I wish I had a supercharger. I have a line on making a 3 groove 1 piece billet pulley to replace the stock 2 groove. I will report back. Now I got to finish the system.

It is indeed similar and I'm not running a supercharger pulley. The cost of one of those pulleys is more than my whole setup  I also cut the middle out of a pulley and welded it in front of the current pulley. Mine was a LR water pump fulley :D

Even though my holes are slotted, I am going to install a real tensioning system by using a tensioner pulley from a Nissan something or other (can't remember what car I pulled it out of!). The biggest problem I have is installing a new belt w/o any tensioning device; makes for a challenging belt install over the two pulleys!

Nice job on the install!

Won't going with the supercharger pully mean you have to buy in to all of the supercharger fan troubles?

Just curious.. what's the impact to engine load & mpg? And is it always compressing air, or do you switch it on? Sorry, I don't know squat about OBA, but your bracket looks sweet so of course I now want one.

You turn the system on with a switch when you need it. No effects on load or mpg. The power for the compressor goes through a pressure switch so when your air pressure reaches a pre-set psi, it cuts off. Hope this helps to explain.

Perfect, thanks! Crap, now I really want a bracket..

Man I really want one of these under my hood. Wish there was room but I seriously doubt it. However this thread has once again peaked my interest to where I might pop the hood and actually take some measurements. Nicely done.

Really nice.
Makes me want to get one

BRAND NEW, as in never used, NOT rebuilt, York Compressor. If I recall correctly, it's a medium sized or .86 unit. $120 shipped to the lower 48.

Just a little update. I'm having a new billet aluminum 3-groove pulley made and new laser cut bracket system for the york. Should be finished in a couple of weeks. I will post pics as soon as the system is done. Thanks for all of the input.

I'd be interested in the pulley.

why not run a batch? i'd of course be interested in a bracket as well..

I'm making 10 sets of brackets and pulleys. First come, first serve basis. It will be about 2 weeks before they are finished. The first set goes on mine, so that leaves 9. I will make more later if need be. I spent a lot of cash-o-la on this already. PM if interested. I'm pretty sure 5 sets are already gone. OH yea, getting my star now. Probally will move this to vendors section later.

I've got a star!!! Now I'm somebody!!! Thanks Woody.
