So these shackles you’re making are an inch longer?
Actually only 15mm longer, but it made a decent amount of improvement on the full stuff clearance and spring angle.
I wanted to keep the shackles as short as possible so I didn’t push the front of the spring way down and screw up the geometry too much. If you look back at my scribble you can see the difference I calculated it should make.

Slow but a bit more progress, cut the front hangers off (were only tacked on) and fully welded them.

And built both the front scab plates and the rear gussets, sprayed and ready to weld on.

Rush inspired me to shape the scab plates a bit more, and then welded em on.

Spent the rest of the night squaring up the hangers, nothing is square on my front horns. I just kept tweaking them until all 8 contact points on the square bar touched.

Next night out I can weld them up and then get the rear hangers a bit more square, the frame sides aren’t vertical back there either (?!)

Did they want to angle upwards on the outsides initially?
The frame rails seem to cant out at the top, the front horns are dimensionally different side to side by about the thickness of the frame...it’s seen some use for sure.

Got the front hangers welded on, need to fab gussets still.

And got the rear hangers squared up, you can see how much the frame is canted out.

How do you know its level on your lift???
I did me best to level it with it on the stops at the height I’m working, using a bottle jack and a timber, I checked the body and frame at three spots to average it out...I’m sure a frame machine would show my sins.

Thanks to @kim for hooking me up with a pair of rear 60 axles today.
Another piece of the puzzle home, washed and ready to strip down.
