forgive my ignorance, does anodizing affect the cooling rate of condensers or radiators? I realize they are usually painted black, I'm just not terribly familiar with anodizing besides structural parts that need to be pretty.

It protects the aluminum from corrosion; doesn't effect heat transfer.

Can color it pink if desired.

One of the things I don’t like about the 1FZ is the position of the oil filter. The really nice Made in Japan small filters are now unobtanium so it means using a large filter if staying Made in Japan for the oil filter. This usually makes a mess when changing oil.

Not my original idea but someone on #IH8MUD figured out that using the *cough/gag* Ford *cough/gag* 90° oil adapter, you can position the oil filter so it mounts with the can facing down. I’m a big fan of this. I’ve had it on my own SC’d LX450 for about 5 years I think now and it’s been great.

Only thing I did was Dremel off the stupid logo (out of spite) and had the large banjo bolt zinc plated.

Add that with a nice Made in Japan oil filter and I’m happy.

It just refers back to this thread:

Picked up a few items that I had yellow zinc plated. I’ll be doing a bunch more stuff to keep the coloring more consistent across the entire engine bay.

Purchased a new OEM reservoir and plugged it up before plating it so that the plastic screen wasn’t damaged.

Then did the lower radiator hose pipe, some radiator pieces and heat shield bolts that I picked up new from Toyota.

Got the Ron Davis Racing radiator back from anodizing. I almost went with black but decided against it because it will show any and all scratches. Went with a clear anodize and happy I did. This thing looks fantastic. All of the grain of the aluminum stayed but the color is very even all the way around. Its really hard to explain but you need to see to appreciate. And no thats not me. I'm a foot taller and crazy jealous of his hair :(
