Wits End Order Issues / Joey Romero (4 Viewers)

I just did a google search and came up with an apparent bankruptcy petition filing involving Wits' End out of the Eugene District court. The date is 9/20/2023 and has nearly a dozen petitioning creditors. I'd assume some of the petioinining creditors are those who have been shortchanged.


Luckily I've always been made whole by Wits' End (last order 8/2/2023 that came in different parts with the last item shipped 9/15/2023), but I acknowledge that isn't the case for everyone.

Sorry to hear that it's come to this and I hope everything can be made right somehow.

Wait I thought he was your best buddy Joey?? You are one of the nut job groupies who loved to post nothing but praises when someone complained about his shady and s service. Now all of a sudden you are reposting his bankruptcy information. You’re one of the clowns that let him continue to rip people off talking down anyone’s negative feedback.
 
Happy to update this with other people that have issues or other locations documenting problems. I'm hoping the community can come together to create accountability.
Well, doesn't sound like I'm getting a refund for my $40.00 hose that doesn't fit. After reading through this thread, I'd say I'm blessed. I got a response from Joey Romero initially, I offered to send pics of the misfitting hose, he said go ahead. 3 business days later have heard nothing. Kind of like comparing a mosquito bite to a shark bite, my situation and yours, but it still bites. Pun intended.

This reminds me of when the all you can eat Chinese buffet goes out of business. I have seen it a couple of times, and it makes me wonder. A hustling bustling buffet can probably pull down between, my guess, between 10k and 20k a month, maybe 30k or 40k even. So I wonder how many months you can go without paying the food supplier before you get shut down. Build up a huge tab, pocket the cash, and in six months to a year walk away with what, maybe 150k? You do a chapter 7 bankruptcy and the 150k goes in your pocket. Bankrupty court isn't going to ask too many questions about where the profit went.

Sorry this is happening to you and other hard working people. You have every right to post everything I've read here, and it's articulated as good as anyone in your situation could ever hope to atriculate it. 6 Grand would devastate me.

I wish I saw this thread before i sent him money. That guy is a total douche.

I had a bad experience with Wits’ End. I went on his website to buy new Kioto headlamps for my FJ60 and his website was having a glitch where I could not check out. So, I reached out to him and he explained there was a temp problem and to venmo him directly the items I wanted . So i did and well the rest is history. Despite numerous emails and messages, I have been totally ghosted. It was only 40 dollars but doing something like is not cool. Just passing along my experience so you don’t also get suckered.

If you're likely still upset because I ridiculed entitle-ists from Orange County (Wits' End bad experience, buyer beware - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/wits-end-bad-experience-buyer-beware.1217255/post-14501140) - I get it. But it's a lie to say what you said. I'm happy to eat crow if you can find any posts of mine that are anything closer to what you're describing...
 
Years of not fulfilling a fully paid turbo order, with little to no communication, is an entirely different beast - I hear that. A comment from @PDXDave67 jarred something loose for me this morning.

For the record, I'm also one of the few who is critical of and not well-supported by others in this community in my distaste for some of the other beloved vendors in the community - so let's not act like I'm some fanboy. I understand your plight and wanting to call attention to it.

Every order I've made to Wits' End has been fulfilled in a relatively timely manner..but the point @PDXDave67 makes earlier in this thread resonated with me and helped further my understanding of the issue :

Impressive how he's still answering phone calls and texts from the people he HASN'T screwed, yet those of us with real money in the game have been blocked on all formats.
Joe, I could care less how many successful orders you've made with the guy.

I wasn't aware that there was STILL a big backlog of turbo orders (which there appears to be based on many comments in this thread and PDXDave's comment). I'm sorry to those that are out significant funds on unfulfilled orders without clear communication.

You must have missed the part where there is still a big backlog of turbo orders AND they have changed status on his website from pending to cancelled with no refunds or explanations offered.
 
@TRAIL TAILOR will be making more of these soon.

50 sets in queue. I'm hoping they will be available for my annual New Year's Day sale, but possibly a week or two into January. Adding case hardening to the new ones and changing little things that have come up after using them 20-30 times now.

I fell into this trap with no knowledge of this thread and Wits End history.

It could be a great thing if people that actually know how to make stuff improve and market Joey's products.
