With a Terrain Tamer lift kit, would an 18" wheel/tire set fit?

There's a local FB marketplace seller with a set of BFG KO2 275/70/18 with about 1000 miles on the tires. Wheels are 6 lug x 5.5", and probably 6" backspacing. I'm assuming I'd be able to get spacers to fit. Just not sure how they'd look.

BTW, the seller noted that they were on his Nissan Titan XD.

This is what they look like. Thanks!

Comparing the other set of tires I'm considering, the 18s aren't that much bigger. Here's the tire size calculator. I'm assuming they'd fit fine, but I'm probably missing something in my thought process otherwise, I'd see more folks going with 17 or 18" wheels.

Fitment aside, going from a 16-inch wheel to an 18-inch wheel and tires of the same overall diameter means you'll lose a significant amount of sidewall height, which is not a good thing on a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Your ability to air down properly will be compromised, as will the ability of the tire to protect the rim from impact damage. You might even notice a reduction in ride quality. Installing wheel spacers will result in yet more compromises.

I don’t have a terrain tamer setup (yet! working on an order…) but the ride quality will suffer tremendously with that much less sidewall.

You’ve sprung for the TT suspension, don’t make a mistake now. Looks like you’re comparing to the 16” Racer rims which IIRC are 5.5” wide just like the TEQ 15’s. So looking at stock backspacing it looks like it’s about 3.5” judging from an extra rim in the garage. You’d need massive spacers to run those.

Stick with the options offered by others in your other thread. You won’t find the Racer’s 16’s on sale but you can find the 15’s on sale and with free shipping, but you’ll have to be patient.

After pricing the New OE steelies, the 16” FjCo rims are getting to be a lot more affordable. Especially with the tire options in 16”.

I haven't pulled the trigger on the Terrain Tamers yet, but it will be the lift kit I will buy. I've got some personal issues that won't be resolved/known till mid-May, so not I'm not pulling the trigger till then. But I'm 99% sure I'm doing the TT kit once the picture becomes clear.

I was just wondering why folks don't do 17s or 18s. These 18s from FB Marketplace aren't Mud Terrains and I'm definitely wanting MTs.

As for the 16" wheels, I'm leaning toward Summit Racing Smoothies 16x7. The FJCo 16" wheels are aluminum IIRC. I'll have to go back and review those posts.
