I'm back!!!!!!!!

I made it back last night around 9:30. We drove Saturday noon til 1 am and Sunday 8 am til 930. The drive went fine. The Beast (that is my wife's new name for the Pig) was strong. It pulled just fine through the mountains. We averaged 60 to 65 on the interstate. She had the power to push faster but I didn't want to strain anything. It was also freaggin' freazing so I did not want to flirt w/ breaking something.

Right now she is covered in salt so I am headed out soon to give her a good scrubbing. Sean was great. Thanks so much for the ride. She will be very well taken care of. The wife is already tired of hearing me talk about my plans. Basically, mechanically the Beast is good to go. My only projects right now are stopping the rust so she will have many more good years ahead of her.

I am going to bring her to Barley's Saturday. I will see everyone there. Thanks again to all for the offers for assistance. I'm glad that I didn't need any!

Oh, and I have pics if someone wants to post. I need to buy a star.

Congrats on the safe journey back!

Can't wait to see this 55 in person, the Beast sounds like a fitting name.

Driving your new (to you) cruiser home one way after you buy it is the best way to break it in and get to know it. Plus, it is something you'll never forget!!

Excellent news! I've been biting my fingernails since you left. Email me the photos please and I'll post them for you. :)

Pics eventhough sent me:

Getting ready to leave the hotel Sunday am in OH.

At my house, thawing out the door latches, which picked up some water when I washed the truck earlier in the week, then froze so they wouldn't latch shut.

eventhough says this is US 2, but the lake is on the wrong side. I think that's US 41 just east of Marquette, and Lake Superior.

That's what the South looked like this morning -- around here anyway.

Glad to see the truck back in the South and excited to see the next phase.

Man that is awesome! I wish I was able to drive mine from Michigan when I bought it, but then again I picked mine up in Grand Rapids and it looks like yours came from the UP, thats going way north! Congrats on the purchase and on the awesome adventure. It sure looked like fun.

Congrats, I almost bought that truck TWICE! :)

looking at those pictures makes me cold!!!! Congrats on the piggy steve!!

congrats on the truck... man i want to move up north

The UP is awesome. If you go much further north than the UP, you're in Canada (or Lake Superior first)!! :D
