Windshield frame to top seal

Anybody have tips on how to install the fiberglass lid with a new windshield to top seal? The fiberglass top is sitting pretty high on the front end creating quite a gap (large enough to where the big u-shaped seal won’t cover). Just slowlygradually bolt the top down from back to front?

I'm getting ready to put my hardtop back on with new seals. I heard talc powder helps so I bought some on Amazon. I guess baby powder is no longer talc but cornstarch.

Just tightened all of the of the fiberglass lid to side pieces down, gradually back to front- settled down nicely in place - with the big “U” shaped gasket snug and filling the space all around.

Did you already fit it to the windshield? What helped me was leaving the windshield knobs out so it could move. It may be that it’s slightly off angle to where the top wants to be?

Little late to the party, but…

Just a daub of Permatex (or) adhesive of choice, will hold the gasket in place. Allowing you to tighten it down gradually.
but, I think you already figured that out.
