We had one on the farm when I was small. My Dad and uncle wouldn't let us get near it, ran off a tractor. Cut a lot of firewood with it.
Once again..... Yikes !

Hey gang, been really busy coaching sports and haven't had time to work on the winch. I found a guy locally who can braze the feet for me but I need to bring to him. Will probably finish this project in November!
 
Thanks man, I'm pretty much a dinosaur around these parts nowadays, but I used to bust out some ok shi#.
 

Not lately. It's completely disassembled, media blasted, and sitting on my workbench. I need to take it to a local welder to have some of it brazed. Once I do that, then I will start putting it back together.

Some inspiration.

This is one I restored a few years ago.
 
All the black is powder coated and the hardware was replated yellow zinc.

The cable is 100’ of 3/8 from Amazon and the chain is replated OEM.
 
FYI for those interested there’s a group buy for the winch mounting shims.
