A little late now, but why not just bolt on the entire '76 housing?

Do you mean the entire axle and the springs assy from the '76?

I was going to do that but I thought it would be more work... hammering at the shackle bolts and hanger pins on the project truck vs pulling off the drums.

It had one of the shock mounting points busted or cut off too. It's better this way and it'll be all new seals as well.

I think this landcruiser obsession is genetically inherited. My daughter asked me today out of the blue. "daddy, can we pick the roof off of mommy's truck?"

Im like, sure honey, lets go pick off the rest of that insulation....

She specifically asked to wear those safety glasses.

The wife wants her pig pink!

Yes, you hear right, thats what the missus wants.

Two tone cygnus white and pastel pink!

A more pale/pastel pink version of this:

Sorry I dont have my photoshop available but this would be the pastel pink. It would get finished off with a clear coat to make it glossy

I think its gonna look cool!

I think that would rock. I have a roll cage on a samurai that my buddy painted pink (albeit flat pink) as a prank and I left it. Gloss finish would probably be more appealing...

Kinda like piggy flesh tone!

Holy cow, I just made a smart aleck post in troll's thread about pink pigs.

Make sure you show here the Chrysler color "Panther Pink" used 1 year in 1970.

I think the code was FM3 from their "High Impact" color library...

I'm not so sure I'd want it myself though.

Mary Kay FJ55??:princess:

Oh yea ;)

Just a question for you guys regarding the front fender vents. This is an obvious source of water entry. Does anyone know if blocking these vents is an option? Or do you think its possible to install something to keep water from directly entering the inner fender?

Regardless I will be coating the inner fender with multiple coats of POR-15, treating it much like an exterior in terms of water exposure.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Some models had closed vents. The fan draws air from the inner fender. I might have a closed inner fender vent if you want it. I have them both open by choice on my truck.
