Whatever we did Dan, we are sorry.

LOL! Not what you guys did. What this idiot did. Apparently I elected to bid to work my butt off in July. So here I am having no time off at all. The paycheck for this month will be pretty great though.

For August I fixed my mistake. I should get stuff done on the 60 in August for sure!

Lol you sound like me, I think I've been home for a total of about 32hrs on and off this month.

Finally got some time off. Not quite as productive as I would have liked, as I'm dealing with some s*** right now that I'd most certainly rather not. But c'est la vie....

Anyway, here's a few pics.

I put down dynamat (Dynamat Extreme) on the firewall and front floorboards. This will be under carpet anyway, and I needed to replace the factory sound deadener that I removed with the dry ice.

Then the rear area got the L track installed. I don't know if I will ever install carpet or a mat back here (the split rear bench seats don't use the same carpet as the original). If I were going to use carpet or mat, I would put down dynamat back here too, but for now I think I'll leave it. I did put dynamat in the rear quarter panels.

And then this.

If you don't realize how big of a deal that is--that's the wiring harness. Heavily modified, retaped (Elliott Tape) and back in the truck. Since the harness is the literally the first piece to go back into the dash, it's a big deal to get it back in.

And an overview of the front. Of note is the Front Mount Intercooler bolted up. It fits--barely. I put those two tabs on the sides of the upper IC mount thinking that I needed them to stiffen the hood support so that the hood would latch correctly, but even without them my hood latches beautifully. If I don't use the studs on the side I could turn the intercooler upside down and get a *slightly* better pipe run. But that may not be all that big of a deal, all things considered.

You can see the overview of the Dapper HID Ballast and relays too, but next post I'll give some detail of how those are mounted.

Close-ups of the Dapper HID ballast and relays. I will install outserts for those bolts when I take the front core support back off for painting.

I'm pretty impressed with what I see from the Dapper kit so far. It's REAL easy to wire up, and there's room to mount the ballasts there (I believe @Mace did the same) keeping the wiring real clean. I will make a sub harness for the Dapper kit, and the two wires (red and black) you see taped up along the core support. Those are the wiring for the under hood lights. Come on when you open the hood, unless I flip a switch and inhibit it, or I can command them on even if the hood is closed. Either way I'll loom those in with the Dapper harness that crosses the front of the truck.

Here's my new 80 series Master Cylinder. I know some people have not liked these on their 60s, but I'm giving it a shot. I also had to fabricate the hard lines from the MC to the proportioning valve. The ones that came off this truck were buggered unacceptably. You can also see a few of the loose bits of wire that I need to trim and route now that the harness it into the truck.

And here's the rear cargo compartment. These are @socallove panels. Dad liked them so much he bought a set for his 60. For now I'll leave them in bare aluminum I think. I like the look, and I REALLY like how sturdy they are and how well they fit.

Last two pics from the week. The harness in the truck. I also got some of the cleaned, repaired and slightly modified HVAC system in once the harness was in.

I just have to point out a little thing like the pedal bucket. Who paints a pedal bucket to match the body color? I do. That's who.

That's it for now. Gotta go to work for a bit. But I should have 5 days or so to work on it later this month, and if all goes well, I hope to be able to try starting the thing in the frame then. Most of the hard work is done now...

Yummy....

holly lord, u still have a ways to go buy progress being made none the less

If I didn't have such a general malaise right now, from this stage to driving would typically be two days for me. ;)

Maybe one and an all-nighter.

I'm still fairly confident I will be driving this by late September--malaise and all.

Thats great to hear! Im actually quite impressed as to how much u do in one or two days. I take months to do one little thing because time constraints.

Maybe we need a quick trip to ABQ Dan to bust this out?

:hmm:

I know what you mean, my build has been going nowhere for months except for purchases... so i just left my job yesterday!

G'day

Great build - the attention to detail and quality of work are both exemplary.

I've got those same rear seats having picked up a full set (front, rear and "cargo") from a wreckers yard.

I went for full reupholstering but they've sat at home for way too long while I try and work out how to fit the fronts. The drivers side (rh here in Oz) catches on the rear heater so I need to do some major fabricating to make everything work.

I was going to use nutserts/rivnuts to fit my rears but there is a problem for me in fitting the 'D' loop for the centre. How did you do this? If you get a chance could you take a few photos and pop them up here?

I know what it's like having someone else run your schedule - over summers here I'm on 24/7 call for six months straight - nothing gets done on my "to do" list!

The rebuilt radiator. I had the lower outlet moved one "spot" over to the outside, and I had both outlets extended by roughly 2 inches. I will have to trim the top one just a little for sure, but this makes the stock 70 series hoses work very, very nicely.
I've been following your wonderful build. I'm wondering about the stock 70 series hoses you used. Do you have part numbers? Or if I just give beno a HZJ7X model enough? Thanks

I probably do have the part numbers somewhere.

...but I'd just add them to the next order with @beno . It's easier that way. They may be a little different between 73, 75, and 77 models?
