Police stops are just random. As long as you have your id and are legally in Colombia there is no problem. Many of the police speak a little English, which is helpful. Normally I’ll offer them a Coca Cola or show them around my truck. I have beware of dog signs to keep any would be thief away, many don’t dare to look to steal. Not bad at all getting stopped. I got stopped in Nicaragua 🇳🇮 more than 10 times. They were always looking for a bribe, but I never paid, you get a Coca Cola 🤣 Always an adventure driving around in South America but safe if you don’t drive in rural areas at night.

After buying this 40 a second time, the wife and I drove into the city for dinner and a beer!

Great to have it back again, and it’s reunited with its younger brother, a 60. A local Houston gentleman used to own both trucks before selling them off individually to the subsequent PO and me individually. I bought the 40, he bought the 60. We then came to know each other through Bayou City Cruisers. We ultimately struck a trade deal on the trucks, with the agreement that we would give each other first right of refusal if either of us ever decided to sell. He is a man of his word and sold it back to me about a week ago. Truly good people in the Cruiser community!

Got back from a two week work trip, took the daughter for pancakes in the morning before taking a cruise around South Austin. Changed the oil in the wife’s highlander and my girl Norman here. Then onto driving lessons with the 14yo boy.

It’s always easy to forget how fast/much oil comes out of a 2f’s undercarriage. What a mess.

Mess? Always. My 1947 ford 8N tractor has a 2 1/2” drain plug…there is just no way to control that surge
