My mini truck somehow ended up in Moab.

Been a few busy last weeks with getting my 84 pickup back on the road.
Finished rebuilding my 22R and installed it. Thankfully I had a spare motor that needed rebuilding since the one I pulled out was in real poor shape after I overheated it on the highway when the block heater failed and dumped all my coolant out. Gave the head a resurface as per the guidance of the machine shop.

After that it was time to diagnose why my e-locker wasn't working. Took the actuator all apart and didn't find a reason why it failed. Bench tested it with direct power to the leads, motor made some noise but no movement. Found an Aisin SAT-008 replacement on Amazon shipped to my door for $470 CAD, tossed it in and voila got a rear locker again! Ready for a spring wheeling trip in the Rockies next weekend.

I took a nice round trip drive of about 800 miles up to Utah to run Lockhart Basin with some High Desert Cruiser boys in my 83’ mini that I’ve been fixin up over the last year and a half. She was rough at first but now she’s just Tough! Rebuilt de-smogged 22R is running great and no mechanical problems whatsoever besides a small tire puncture that I repaired in minutes as the group was stopped waiting for a full sized Tundra to clear the obstacles back up the canyon.
