I would also grind the caliper, I had to do the same years ago with pretty much the same wheel, I ground them down at Discount with their grinder, did not take much and 10 years latter I could not even tell where i ground them down.

if you grind the wheel, you have 40 some places that will now rust.

spacers, never ran them

If they are barely scraping I would grind the caliper as there is NORMALLY plenty of meat to them. That will be your quickest and easiest solution.

No, thin wheel spacers will be the quickest and easiest solution. Why is even a question?

quick and easy is all fine.....but is it the best solution? huh?

Yes, they are. If they only have 1/8" of clearance issue I see NO PROBLEM in running a small spacer. I never see any problem with running any spacer ever but whatever.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I decided to go 50/50 and shaved a little off the back lip of the wheels and a little off the caliper.
Cruisermatt I looked for spacers but could only find "universal" 5x5.5 and 6x5.5 in 1/4" thickness. Also found out discount tire won't mount the wheels with the spacers in place.

I'm painting the wheels and I live in the desert so I'm not too concerned rust.

Thanks again for the help.

Had a OME lift installed (got from Cruiser Outfitters, Kurt is Awesome!!), added new BFG AT KO2 (235/85/16) all around on new Wheel Vintiques 12 Series Smoothie Wheels - 16x7 from Summit Racing (bolted right up!) and painted flat black. Totally changed the look of the truck!

Smooth. How is the bs on those?

I assume your referring to Back Spacing, if so they have 4" Back Spacing. I had originally tried the 15x7 (3.625" BS) in the same wheel but they rubbed ever so slightly on the caliper. I tried a 1/4" BS with the 15x7 as well but just didn't like the amount of Lug stud left remaining outside the wheel (concerned about having enough turns of the Bolt, I think I got around 5 - 6 complete turns).

89cruiserfj62 referred to bolting up the 16x7 Smoothies on this thread even though they had 4" BS. They bolted right up without a hitch. Hope that helps.

The profile looks good. Can you post pics from the front and rear? Appreciated!

Will do, having a heck of a time getting them to upload right this moment.

I would say a little as well as the truck is not on perfect flat surface. Not sure how to fine tune if it did have a slight lean. Any suggestions??

I have a slight lean (right) and plan to revisit once all the mods are completed.

Vankc...do you think a 16x8 with four inch back spacing would have worked on your rig? I've got the same lift as you. I've currently got the stock wheels and a "tired" set of 33x10.50's BFGs. I would like to go a little taller given some new 4.56 gears and lockers.

I do, if your referring to the smoothies. You could always order one and bolt if up to confirm and if it does not work you would just send it back. Just don't mount a tire on it when trying to see if it works. That's what I did. I love the smoothies.

ok, i'll play-current setup is stock rims, 33"x10.50x15" BFG AT that are pretty tired. Waiting for the Summit/Wheel Vintiques 16x8 smoothies to show up...only problem is I'd like to keep the "tall and skinny" thing going AND try the Cooper AT3s, but the 285/75/16 looks like it's gonna be 32.5" x11.6"...the 295/75/16 are a little taller, but 11.9" wide...ughh.
I'm allergic to wide wheels and tires...I break out in buyer's remorse.
