the 4+ winch bumper that I got from Dave Gore (lcwizard here on MUD) several years ago after a rock sprung up at me was designed for a bottom-mounted winch - but now that a great deal on a 8274 emerged, I needed to change to a forward-mounted winch mount - so, got the 8274-compatible 4+ bumper from Dave Gore installed this weekend; and the rebuilt 8274

need: wiring it all up, meaning I need to find a mounting option for a second battery (we already installed a Painless dual battery wiring system in anticipation of winch 8 years ago ), get and install that battery, wire everything up, find the right length/strength/color winch line, find suitable fairlead . . . procure winch "accessories"

read destructions and learn how to use the darn thing

As for the winch cable, I would go 100' 3/8" (actually, you can probably fit more than 100' on that drum) .....stronger cable and if you think you will do longer pulls just carry a winch extension.
