I had a spare valve from my previous MV50, so it's no problem. Just gonna swap it out. I will rebuild the broken one with a screw and throw it in my bag for a trail spare. The piston has clearance for a screw already. It's just 4 screws to swap this out if it happens again.

Been pimpin the LX, guess I am channeling Travis.

Was going to start my motor removal tomorrow, but stuck on 24 hr duty. Maybe a blessing in disguise since it's freezing outside.

Travis- You mentioned have an engine hoise you used on the new project. Any chance I can borrow that when the time comes?

....also, time to wash those windows! :D

I call that Hillbilly window tint :hillbilly:

Seriously though, what's going up there?

I was skeptical when I first saw a thread on doing that. I bought a shelf and zip tied it to the rear grab handles for our trip to YNP in October. We used it a lot more than we thought we would and for more than paper ;)

So I made some brackets and have a nice solid mount that can be easily removed if needed.

Maybe I missed it but what did you decide to do?

I'm pretty sure there are one or two members out there with one to lend, but not me. I've been contemplating purchasing one for a while, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The 60 came with the Vortec installed. :D

It's staying in the garage. Too much of my blood on/in this thing. And it always makes me giddy to drive it. See my last post about possibly finding a newer bottom end for it!

Also planning on fixing all the leaks that I didn't before (xfer case, trans) as well as the ones from hard wheeling around the diffs.

I have a lift your welcome to borrow. But it is Del Norte....

Unless someone has one closer, I may take you up on that offer. Wouldn't happen to have a leveler as well, would you?

I think the plan will be to remove the transfer case, since that seems to twist and throw of the balance when removing it from previous posts on removing all three as a unit.

Been doing a lot of sanding, vacuuming, and wet-vac-ing lately and wanted to listen to some tunes but didn't want to listen to is blasting over the sound of my tools. I'm not a big fan of noise, but I do like music so I came up with this (not my creation entirely, saw something like it in Make magazine about 10 years ago.).

Just a little sound from the tools and my tunes at a nice comfortable level. :D

Tech tips: My heater fan has not worked on high since I have owned the truck. It turns out that there is a relay just for the high fan speed, located in the drivers kick panel of the FJ80:

It turns out that this relay is the same part number as the EFI relay, under the hood:

Anyway, the tips are:
1. If your fan doesn't work on high, it's probably just this relay, p/n:056700-4810
2. If your EFI relay goes out (apparently this happens a lot), you can swap in the fan relay for a temporary replacement. Your fan will still work on the 3 lower speeds.
3. There is spare relay storage in the underhood fuse box. I'm buying an extra to keep there.

You can get used relays on the cheap on ebay right now, less than 4 bucks a piece:

New replacements are $20-30 online or from mr. T.

Update on the Roof Rack:
Started welding it together last night, made sleeves from one size larger tubing to reinforce the seams. I know, complete lack of safety gear but at least I'm wearing a helmet!

The almost finished product. Just need to do a little grinding on some of my less than pretty welds and cut down/attach the floor.
