I am about to have my first LC! It is an 01 with low miles, but the guy I am getting it from is keeping his wheels so it has smaller ones that look silly. I am not planning to lift it for a while. It will get weekday road driving, but weekends will be a lot of dirt roads, but minimal serious off-roading. It currently has stock alloy 18s I was going to paint black and try to get bigger tires OR get all new rims and tires. I want to avoid rubbing and want to avoid having to do anything (I have little car work experience) major to the wheel well to make it fit. I'm looking for suggestions for what I should be looking for and how to proceed. The pics here all look good to me. There is an abundance of info here I am trying to learn about, but want to get them changed asap and I learn slow. Cheers and thanks

Have patience and read the classifieds mate. There are some very generous folks here on MUD and from what I've experienced, wheels and tires are like jewelry is to our wives and girl friends. A great deal is right around the corner if you look around some.

Classifieds: Tire & Wheel

Wishing you a premature welcome to the 💯 Club...

Cheers mate,

So I have come across a set of 16x8 0 offset wheels. I was planning on going 285/75/16. I don’t have a lift or AHC and was wondering if they would fit?

I actually ended up selling the wheels and tires here on the classifieds a few weeks ago. I loved the KO2s and would have went with them again if they made them in the size I wanted. I wanted to go with a taller narrower tire and a wheel with more positive offset. I decided on Rock Warriors and Cooper ST Maxx in 285/75/17. I really like this setup. I am running a lift pushing droop to the acceptable limit. I also run SPC UCAS and I'm at almost +4* of caster, I know that may have a little to do with the pinch weld rub I had with the 295s, but I'm not sure how much.

But please don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the SCS wheels. They are lightweight, hubcentric, and they look awesome on a 100, they just didn't work with the direction I wanted to go.

What wheel spacers did you use to make those fit? Looks great

Do you have to run a spacer with the Rock Warriors?

If so what size are you running? The fitment/offset looks awesome!

Just installed Method 704 17s with 0mm offset along with 285/70 17 Wildpeaks. Need the basic mods of the fender well of lower bottom to prevent rubbing on turning but hoping I don't need to replace the wheels with some positive offset version. Anybody have experience with this configuration?

A little additional information. I have been running 285/75 16 on stock wheels with not issues. Truck is 99 Land Cruiser with OME suspension with diff drop. Wheels are 17" x 8.5" with zero offset. Will simulate some suspension angles with jacks tomorrow but would appreciate any advice or experiences with this configuration.

Yes, spacers are a must for them to fit without machining.
What brand and size spacers are you running. I’m looking for the same set up with the minimum spacer size so the dust caps on the rock warriors will fit.

Slee Offroad does a very good job machining SpiderTrax 1.25" spacers for hub centric fitment up front.

They fly off the shelf so you'll need to get on their mailing list for the next batch. Very worth the wait.

Sweet Ride. Love the factory TRD look. Yep, I went on Slee’s web sight and they are on back order…if anyone has a set they want to sell I’m interested

I bought a used set of 1.25" Spidertrax spacers that were on a '19 tundra. Do the front spacers need to be machined to fit on a 2004 with RW wheels?

Yes, the machining Slee does makes the spacers hub centric... 👍

I have a set I no longer use. I would be happy to work something out with you.

Yes, I’m interested. It would be for a 1999 Land Cruiser 100 series. Do you have the Spidertrax or Bora. I’m in OH 43064 for shipping. Thanks

Okay, Which company makes a 17 inch wheel with a +10- +25 offset in 5x150 that will clear the front hub mess? Also, it would be nice if you can still buy them new. All I'm finding are 16 and 18 inch wheels and really hate both sizes, lol.
