What tires are you guys running on stock 15" wheels?

You’ll get different opinions/answers on this just like I did... I did some bit of homework on this and had a secure feeling about the 33x10.50 on stock steelies after reading threads and actually just asking members running these how they felt about it! It’s hard to beat the look IMHO

I was turned away at Discount also... Like @G-Cat says, find a good ‘non-chain’ tire shop... They’ll mount them just as fast as your card is swiped! :grinpimp:

Shop I used said the tires actually went well with the steelies - no bulging issues!

Did you need a lift? Or stock ride height?

I’ll likely do a OME 2 inch lift later on but only have extended shackles right now... no issues though!
(also the rear fenders were butchered for the flares by PO)

So, I went to the tire shop and asked for 31s, they told me that 33s would fit. Bought them that day.

They didn't. With the existing extended shackles, the BFG Mud Terrains would rub on the front of the rear fender well. So I ditched the stock springs for used 2" Ranchos from the classifieds. That didn't work either, still rubbing, but now I have significant driveshaft vibration, and they are too stiff. Installed perch wedges. Ok, finally, I moved the axle rearward on the perch a bit to accommodate the J30 to SM420 swap without modifying the length of the rear driveshaft, plus it made sense since the truck came with cut fender wells. No more rubbing, but I should have bought stock steelies and caps instead of trying to fill out the American Racing wheels with more rubber. This is my old build, a '73 from about fifteen years ago. But, for my current '75 build, I'm going to stick with 235/75/R15 street treads on OEM wheels.
