I've done some preliminary blasting and cleaning of this tub and frame, and it has a Canadian title. Would love to hear from you guys, I am going to change the listing to $2500, but if anyone has some historical or reference of other places that have something similar would love to hear. Thanks

In the US, that's about $500 worth. Maybe. Given it's a '78 with smog issues and title problems, in California, it's scrap value.

Haha I think you hit your head on the Rubicon one too many times!

No offense but you can buy a complete 40 for that price.

But its worth what someone will pay for it. Take the reserve off and let her rip, eBay is usually a good indication of value.

I'm not trying to be a dick here. It's a tub and a frame. Without a US title. The frame is not worth anything. Sorry, but that's the way it is. A '78 will require smog certification almost anywhere that requires smog. So your biggest market, California, is basically closed to you, as are many other metro areas where people with money to buy this actually live. Texas will be your best market.

Your tub is a rusty mess. The rear sill is swiss cheese. To think it has a lot of value is kidding yourself.

Tubs are pretty cheap, and $3000 is about $2750 out of line. Sad, but true. What you have will require EVERYTHING. Interior, axles, motor, transmission, transfercase body mounts, electrical, linkages, even the transmission tunnel. EVERYTHING that goes into an actual running Land Cruiser is not here.

Please let us know what you eventually sell it for. My guess is, you'll sell the tub for $150 and keep the frame until the end of time.

Sorry for the reality check.

Ya dude, thats way too much. A sandblasted frame isnt worth much. 500 tops if you have about 2 years to wait for the right guy. The tub? Maybe 350. You still have to replace the sil, and likely theirs lots of hidden rust underneath all the supports and stuff. Now if you had the tub acid dipped(cuz sandblasting only gets so far, repaired all the rust and swiss cheese, then had it galvanized-then you can expect thousands if u had supporting pics of your work.

yeah not sure what good the out of country title is? more a pain in the ass then anything else. nothing special about a rusty tub in primer and clean frames are not that uncommon. $500

Go register it. What are the numbers and was that year built in USA?
If built in USA it in an American Car Returning to USA.
All you need it the canadian reg. because in canada the Reg is also the title.
Bingo Now someone can build something and sell it as a truck and not a farm toy.
List KEYWORDS with the AD.
Bronco,4x4,etc.....

I sold a rusted out tub (rear sill and floor pans were toast) for $400 in GA just to move it quickly. I sold a 1975 mint frame without title for $200. They have minimal value in rusted out condition.

I also sold a 1975 tub with repaired quarters and sill for $2500. you gave to put a little bit of money and time into the tub to get your asking price.

I concur, I ran across your ad last night while browsing Craigslist. The 2 things that immediately turned me off was the price and when I saw the rear sill area.

ok got it will change the price, thanks for everyones feedback

I second this.

I got a tub in much much better shape than that for free. The guy couldnt sell it at all. I had it blasted and epoxy primed for far less than 500.

Frames like that go for 2-500 dollars and in many cases under 500 already powdercoated with title. In fact the guy I got the tub from was able to sell his for 300.

This are prices that come up regularly around Texas on craigslist.
