What is the purpose of this wire on the coil? Is it OEM and is it available from Toyota or aftermarket? Thank you

That's your ballast resistor hanging off the side of your coil. Looks OEM to me. The black yellow wire comes from your ignition. The wire wrapped in braided fabric should go to + on your coil.

Where does the breather hose next to your coil come from? Axle or fuel tank?

That wire would be Black and 16 gauge. I can make one for you if you need it. Just need you to measure it. Looks to be about 4" maybe?

Interesting solution. All my fuel vapor stuff was missing on my 76. For now my 3 tank vent lines are capped off. Someday I need to address that.

I read that yours is a 76 also. I like your 77+ rear side vent windows. Looks like you have a bracket for a telescoping Aussie mirror on your passenger side windshield hinge. Nice 40!
