I learned to replace dash-bulbs :D, Fixed the lighter, and plugged some excess holes with these neat rubber doo-dads I found. And installed AC.

Found a cheap alternative for mirrors when the doors are off. Coleman brand ATV mirrors from Wal-Mart. The holes lined up perfectly with the two bottom screws of the windshield hinge, just had to drill out the ATV mirror brackets slightly to fit 8mm x 40mm screws purchased at Menard's. I think they look a little more sleek than the old bulky door mirrors and only cost $19. I'm also legal now when the doors are off!

Four night trip, with daBoise, to various venues in Central Nevada. Found a great place to camp off the Extraterresterial Highway, but it was so damned cold, with the wind gusting to about 30mph, we headed east to US93 and about 20 miles south of Alamo, NV.

Found a very isolated and tranquil campsite, off a two track that probably isn't legal near the campsite. DaBoise and I hiked a lot... Very little climbing this time... Just one climb to see 44 in the distance. Thurs night, a norther (probably the same front that we had run from) blew in and the temp dropped to 16, with the windchill (around Alamo, NV) down to 6 degrees.

We were comfortable in the tent, but 4:30pm is too early to go to bed, so we came home a couple of days early...

This is where we camped the last couple of nights

Here's where we camped, up on the ridge, the first night... Slept in 44

Started pulling my rear axle. Decided to flip one of the springs as I've been thinking about flipping the rear to gain some wheelbase. Doesn't have weight on it but can get an idea of what it'll look like. The plan is to move the entire wheel opening back to keep an original look.

@carreta What's the bypass hose for on the split case?

To alert the outside that the occupant of the vehicle is about to drive thru you

:)

Used to be so common to see ... along with a dash mounted ignition switch ... however early cruisers came with those lol

Yea, its a horn reroute, the original steering wheel was all messed up and the horn contacts were all corroded, so a shop decided this was the fix, not my choice, and on the list of fixes to be done :steer:

I installed the radiator and my two new shifter knobs. Then I started working on my cable locker cable installation.

Started working on my fj40 overland/camping setup a bit. A good friend gave me a fridge slide, so I built a simple divider system, and got my simple kitchen vibe started. I have an 80 series with all of the goodies, but there's something special about banging on a 40! Also working on a rigged up accessories rack to hook up lights and other hanging junk.

Me too; just installed the same one!

How much space is required to install those lifts? I'm wondering if I can fit one between the second floor rafters in my building….

Nice to see another Coleman stove still going strong. We bought a similar (or identical?) stove right after we bought our '84 FJ60 new from the dealer. Once we had the Land Cruiser we had to start accumulating gear for car camping with our two sons. We still have the '84 and the stove.
