Mounted some new rubber....
Finally pictures posted of the floor and roll bar... kyle-landcruiser.blogspot.com
Good work. What welder are you using? Are those lots of tiny spot welds in your photos of the welds on the rear quarter?
I used a little MIG welder. I spot welded it on and filled in the seams bit by bit. It was my first attempt at welding...
Great Scott said:Pulled out the wobbly harmonic balancer. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I simply wrapped the balancer with a bicycle tube, rachet strapped it to the chassis to stop it moving and used a 1200 ft/lb electric impact wrench on it for 5 seconds. All of my strength on a 5' breaker bar did nothing except twist the engine on its mounts. The balancer came off easy with the supercheap 3 jaw puller.
I wish the cruiser would fit in the shed though... it gets damned hot outside, even under my makeshift shelter.
...if I never see another Australian summer it will be too soon!
Starting pulling the gas tank to get her back on the road and found this hiding behind the cover plate, not a good sign.
Maybe the PO found it to be a good fuel tank additive too... (It should be, based on the wide-ranging things it cures.) You guys over there have all the great products. (Our nasty Consumer Affairs Department stops many of these marvellous things from reaching our shelves.)![]()
