How do you like the 2H in a 40?
Are those AC mounts easily available there? I'm going to have to source some eventually. Keen to see how you set this up, I'll probably end up copying you.
Is that amount of breakdown normal for a radiator replacement on the 2h? I believe I have a pinhole leak in mine
So I went a little heavy with the RTV years ago and may have left part of a rag in the drain pan...

The mounts dont seem rare just cost and time adds up by the time you get all the factory bits together. there are people fabricating them as well.
The radiator should have been a simple swap in and out but my housing/radiator support was bent to fit a larger radiator, so that’s come out to repair. I’ll do a few jobs while I’m in there. New thermostat housings and fan. Front apron paint and some guard repair.

I’ve thought about using sound dampener in the front of mine….i am just not sure it would any difference with all the other creaks and noises mine has. Let us know how it turns out!

Absolutely! I’d be willing to sell them. Once the car is together I’ll get some good pictures. They replace the head rest location for the jump seats.
I’m also working on a cfd optimized air filter box for snorkels, various cable organizers, a 4speed shift boot- that relocated the breather for water crossings- brass axel breather valve relocation adapters, transfer case breather relocation. And some other odds and ends. Once they have some test miles and are all hammered out I’ll probably start making extras to share.
@Gretchet I've thought about doing the sound deadening. I only have a soft top (saving up for a hard top) but do you think it will make much of a difference with either no top or just a soft top?

It won't. There is too much noise just from the soft top buffeting. Even with a hard top, I'd be surprised if it made much difference. It may help with heat transfer through the floor.

I rebuilt the truck after getting it almost 25 years ago.. It’s a 66 that was never intended to be a restoration. Stuck mostly to various year and model cruiser parts to keep it resembling stockish. Some custom stuff. Started out a poorly resprayed red with mismatched doors and top when I got it Taking on a patina by now
Side steps are steel tube with aluminum tread plate. Made them to resemble factory steps but they are tied to the frame as actual sliders. Just tested at rubithon.
A few things still need finishing or improving but for now it works .for me. Some action pics from the past week

Agree 100% with @clrussell…some rigs are just ‘right’ and yours is one of them. SOA with stock springs and uncut quarters? I need to get off of OMEs and want to do a low SOA with (probably) nothing too crazy in terms of perches/hanger frenching/etc., curious about your formula.

Fixed the seal on the PS pump reservoir cleaned the pulley while I was at it
And replaced my seat bottom with a spare from @JKIII FJ40 … found the lower support bar in seat back broken welds on both sides… fixed that but in the process melted part of the pleather lol I’m one day most likely going to get the procar seats … they nice on the bum bum

The suspension I chose to do something quite different. Fronts are based on taller jdm take off 70 series springs. Rear I did a low soa with 60/70 based rear springs. Tires are 33s (285/75/16 on gm wheels). Flex is reasonably balanced front and rear. I’m almost happy with it. Need different rear shocks and might add one more leaf to the rear pack
JohnnyC, great to hear the seat bottom went to good use. Too bad I didn't know about the other broken piece, I have some other seat parts and two seats as well if you want them. From the looks of the pump, I may have a spare too if its from a mini truck/4runner.
Yeah the seat back is from when my oldest son who’s now 22 used to sit behind my seat in a conferr bench and he used to push his feet on it … hard lol I thought just one side was broke … nope lil bugger used to do some damage … I’m going to save for procar seats
as dumb as it sounds I like that I was able to fix his damage

The pump is a mini… the pump itself is fine it’s the seal between the reservoir and pump… it was a remote reservoir that we mounted on top so the seal between is kind of wonky
