Had a great day with a handful of Ohio 40/60/62s
After much deliberation, I pulled trigger and purchased this Toyota branded rear cargo floor mat for my 1976 40. It is high quality and fits great.
I only bought the rear cargo mat. The front floor mats did not have all the cut outs for seat brackets like Cruiser Corps version or SOR.I’ve looked at these for the past few months. Looks like a nice piece of kit.
Did you get the front mats as well??
That looks great.New dash pad from fj40dash.

Those Pertronix ignitors are getting expensive, so for now I keep the old points and condenser in a zip-loc bag in the glove box. And the spare dizzy and ignitor in a box in the back.Highly recommend keeping a spare pertronix sensor in the glove box... I've had 2 fail (one in my '76 40 and one in my Ferguson 35 utility tractor). But I definitely noticed both engines ran much better when I switched the engines over from the points to the pertronix. I also switched the dizzy from the original vacuum retard to vacuum advance, which seemed to helped with power under load/acceleration...
easy install? Does the dizzy need to be removed, can can the Pertronix be installed by just removing the cap?Pertronix finally came in. they were back-ordered for a month or two, so I installed an Ignitor II in a '76ish small cap 19100-61010 vacuum advance dizzy that has the octane adjuster. I love the octane adjuster. Pulled out the Big Cap dizzy and swapped them.

yes. just pull the points/ condensor and install the pertronix (2 screws) then run the 2 wires to the (+) and (-) on the coil. Recommend getting the pertronix flame thrower coil as well and disconnecting the ignitor (ignitor is only needed to keep the points from welding together)easy install? awesome, adding to my next weekend project! Getting the coil as well!yes. just pull the points/ condensor and install the pertronix (2 screws) then run the 2 wires to the (+) and (-) on the coil. Also best to recheck the timing, but mine was still dead on after the install.
How much for a nice one Mark?I have over two dozen good used vac advance dizzies on the shelf waiting for new homes.![]()
just remove ignitor and current coil with a couple of bolts. I ordered a new coil bracket with the new coil, but many reuse the old bracket (if I remember correctly, the flame thrower is a little larger diameter coil than oem, thus a tight fit in the oem bracket). I believe its the 0.6 ohm coil (search the threads and someone will have previously posted the correct model)awesome, adding to my next weekend project! Getting the coil as well!
what is involved with disconnecting the ignitor
They are also really good on the phone making sure you get what you need.just remove ignitor and current coil with a couple of bolts. and Mark @65swb45 can also set you up with everything if you want to go that routeThey are also really good on the phone making sure you get what you need.
My dizzy was in my hand 'cause I was swapping dizzys too. It's easier with the dizzy out of the rig but can be done with it still in.easy install? Does the dizzy need to be removed, can can the Pertronix be installed by just removing the cap?
Yep, going to get with Mark @65swb45 for a one stop shop option. That way the dizzy can come ready to install and I always love supporting a MUD OG!and Mark @65swb45 can also set you up with everything if you want to go that route
