Greg @Pighead make sure you make the ‘out’ wire long enough to reach the ‘in’ terminal for the eventuality of a voltage drop inside the switch. I’ve removed a couple of ‘marine-grade’ dual battery/ cutoff type switches from customer’s rigs over the years, usually after they’ve wasted money on a new starter because they couldn’t believe that anything marine grade could degrade.

Thanks Mark, looks like there's plenty of slack to move things around. Switch works so far, gonna need some bigger terminals to fit the 1/0 starter cables then the switch can shut everything off.

Finally got around to installing the Vintage Air heater that's been bouncing around in the back of the Pig for 2 years. Sorta got it mounted to the firewall, I'm not great with the nutserts yet but 3 outa 4 ain't bad. Sorta got it wired if I jump the grounds, haven't decided exactly where to mount the switches. But, most importantly, I plumbed it in so it don't leak.

And since I didn't plan on taking the cooling system apart again for a while I flushed it real good, using the stock block drain valve, which opened easily and flowed well. I stuck the garden hose in the radiator and let it flow.
Used some chemicals that had been recommended just in case.

Rinsed and wiped it down with melamine sponge to remove a little of the oxidized paint, then waxed with meguiars wax.

Then closed up the holes in the frankenstein tranny tunnel cover with some home made pieces. 1/4 rubber belting and 16 ga steel i had lying around.

Before and after.

You should sew a cone with a tie at the top to fit the shaft and pop rivet the lower end on your base.

Had to drive in to town to get big terminal ends, then cut my starter line in two and put my new cut-off switch in between. Now the switch cuts off everything when iturn the key.
I still have some loose, unidentified wires to clean up, but it's looking a little better.

@cstav86, a friend who knows I’m into 40s sent me this yesterday.

That's funny, small world we live in! Was up in Steamboat Springs with the family, what a beautiful place and LOTS of 40's up there. Life is very different with a 10 month old, but she loved the trails she got to go on. Even slept part of the way up Buffalo Pass! We also went around Hahn's Peak via Seedhouse Road, stunning views, fun trail and virtually nobody on it.

Most the body work is done so I’ve moved my focus onto the new rain gutter and fixing the cracked fiberglass top. The CCOT kit is fantastic quality. Needed a bit of adjustment and fabrication to fit my 40 but I’m convinced that’s because my 43 year old vehicle is less straight than the kit. I still need to finalize the front of the gutter, rivet it to the fiberglass and do some additional cosmetic work but it’s good progress.

Do you know how you’ll squeeze the rivets yet? I made a squeezer out of bolt cutters you’re welcome to borrow, just have to get it to the west side. I think there are a couple other guys doing this soon over there too.

I finally got over to my son's house on Saturday to run the valves for the first time since I built and installed the engine nearly five years ago. While I was doing it, I parked the LV next to it to compare. Look how much longer the LV is next to the FJ40.

Oh... I had help. My 3 year-old grand daughter just had to be involved. Yeah, she was a big help.

Well, the tray itself is done. Tomorrow we start painting it, as well as the rest of the rig. Been a long time coming...

If it works well then I’d cover the shipping and then can hand it off to the next guy in this area that needs it. Message me and we will work it out. Thanks!
