Its been a busy week. I installed a set of rotapax fuel tanks, a low profile pelican storage case and a set of tractions boards. Waiting for another case to come in that will attach on the pass side. I know I installed something else on my 76 BJ40 but I can't remember... ;)

Getting her ready for a trip to South Padre Island for some surf fishing...

Today I had a chance to drive the 40 for a few hours mostly off road and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Body work , new wiring, windshield, exhaust system and a million little things to get it to this point, Parts will have to come back off for more paint work and yes the badge is in the wrong place but for the time being it hides a big whip antennae hole I still have to fill in 😄 . The seats will be going to the upholstery shop in two weeks. I'm looking forward to enjoying it this summer!

I rebuilt my rear license plate frame and lights.
Also added floor insulation, an OEM gas cap and a rubber bumper for the spare wheel carrier.

I will reinstall the rugs after I spray FlexSeal on the backing which is starting to flake off, unless anyone has other suggestions?

Wow! That paint really buffed out nicely!….

Congrats. Looks great.

thanks
You deserve a medal
Not really ...
The color looks good from the distance .. but my painting work looks sucks from a close view...
I was too rushed to finish this project.... and painting work requires some time and patience.
But for me, the FJ40 is a utility styling vehicle and paint quality doesn't bother me much :)

Very nice! If you ever decide to make and sell the door handles, please let me know.

Thank you. -jimmy
@FJ40Savvy I was looking for this handle for the last few months .. so if you do make a few more, please let me know as well

Despite approaching this weekend with full head of steam and great intention…here it’s Saturday and I haven’t touched a thing… unless opening this envelope from Portugal counts as something….Etsy

It was just one of those nagging little things... both of the after-market window regulators, the pocket door, and the ash tray face plate were more of a shade of gold rather than OEM pewter. I finally decided to remedy that. They don't hold a candle to the gorgeous work done by @Jdc1 (RCLC) on Mule v.2 for @Chungas Revenge, but at least they match. They will do.

Looks great, thanks for the props- I give all the credit to my team on the paintwork.

Looks like the vader light is installed. :)

Splurged on a leather wheel cover! Went from this:

And it only took five and a half hours, with frequent screaming breaks! So worth it!
