Highly recommend that while you have the seats out to add extensions to allow more leg room. Extensions for the drivers seat are available from several Mud vendors. I just made extensions for the passenger seat out of steel channel that moved the seat back 2” which is most you can do with OEM seats/brackets.

All those lines for the gas tank vent should fit under the tank cover. And, while I'm not sure exactly how that plastic piece is supposed to mount, and know I am missing a few parts, covers etc., I'm pretty convinced that it needs to be mounted higher than the tank with the hose to the check valve at the highest point.
When I bought my '74, that vent hose with the check valve was routed back into the tank and the whole thing was lying on top of the tank under the metal cover (with an aftermarket plastic tank), and the whole inside always smelled like gas (even parked outside, with the top off, no doors). Mounting that upright, and plumbing as shown in the FSM and my interior lost the constant gas odor.

Driving around town today with the top off and kick vents open; 2 separate cars at 2 different stop lights decide to tell me I left my gas door open. They both look puzzled when I tell them it's a vent and the real gas door is on the passenger side. One even doesn't believe me so I stick my fingers through from the inside to prove it. Are people really this dense? Guess I should be happy neither said "nice jeep ".... small victories indeed. 😁

No disrespect to city racer, but my LED headlights snowed over last winter. Just replaced them with a set of heated JW Speaker headlights.

Had to slight carve out some of the headlight dish.
Yeah I have read that is the down side of LEDs not putting out any head in colder climates to melt off.

Got some more photos back from the lab I use. I love this shot of the fj40! this photo was taken with my Rolleiflex 3.5f of the same vintage as the fj40. Film: fuji pro 160ns

I might sell this one as a print!

In preparation for SAS, I decided to look for any loose connectors or splices that a PO may have left for me under the dash. Found this cooked turn signal wire powered by a blown aftermarket 30A fuse. So that’s why the hazards don’t blink.
