Replaced the rear corners.
Dad camping trip with the kids, nice to get out of the heat.
Nice work! Just wrapping up the same project on mine.
The worn out shocks I replaced were the ones that came with my HFS springs, not sure what brand CCOT uses. Been on the 40 since 2004.
Ironically I had Rancho 5000s for several years before that!
Wrapped us this metal tech cage for a buddy’s 81’ fj40 with an aqualu tub.
Looks great. Hopefully someone grabbed that right angle magnet stuck to the rear carrier before he hit the road, that would suck to have come at you on the highway! Both those 40's are bitchin!

Ruby went for her first real outing... the HAC seems to be working great at nearly 9,000 foot Marble Pass Oregon. Got her good and stuck in a mud hole so the winch is also fully checked out!

The sandals are the cherry on top.
Finally circled back to the broken air rail. Appears to be the first time it’s been disconnected in 41 years. One of the air injector nozzles broke off in the captive nut on the air rail. The steel pipe was also badly bent. I had to choose what to salvage so I went with the captive nut because the pipe was thrashed. Cut off the pipe, drilled out and tapped the nut captive nut, ordered a $1M replacement used air injector nozzle from SOR, purchased some 8mm OD / 6mm ID steel tube, bent that to shape, cut to size, aligned, welded to the air rail (forgot to turn on the gas so the initial weld was garbage but no one other than y’all will see it), installed the captive nut, drilled out a nut to use as the new pipe flare, welded that to the pipe, ground it to size, re-aligned the pipe because the welding heat pulled on it. Mocked up and good to go. Now for cleaning and off to get it cadmium plated.
With my sand car finally reassembled and running, i spent the day resetting the garage space for some upcoming cruiser tinkering. First time I’ve parked a landcriser under a roof i owned. I’m pretty excited to be able to tinker on flat concrete and with proper overhead lighting. I did some test fitting of an auxiliary tank that i will be installing for supplemental fuel storage. I hope to take my ‘69 on a roadtrip before winter arrives.

The Air Injection rail nuts are not captured, you should replace them all due to age and time crusty factor there going on
Below are Japan Spec. Injection rail service parts , the red brass / bronze sleeves and the nuts them selfs ….
You have it use a sharp face nipper like the NIPPEX brand and actually cut off the side face cleanly then u can get them off
Out with the old in with the TEq new , it’s a solid MAI system for you …
