Fit @gerg's turbo kit and after some quick fuel tuning around the house we headed straight for the desert. Absolutely amazing what a difference it makes - still not fast, but much less slow!

Staying closer to home than usual due to covid so we checked out some granite climbing out west. Really cool rock that reminds me of Joshua Tree in CA or City of Rocks in ID, but instead its just outside salt lake and the camping is free

Took the top off, put a new fuel pump in and went for a little celebratory stroll on the back 40.

Finally got rid of the rag joint that never quite lined up after I installed the mini-truck power steering box. My neighbor was kind enough to machine the “D-end” on the steering shaft to fit in the Borgeson steering joint. I went with the Borgeson 034925 (3/4”DD x 11/16”-36 spline) and it worked well.

Also got the cracks in my intake and exhaust manifolds welded and the flanges machined. Re-installation with a new Snyper TBI is hopefully next weekend’s project!, (Got it all pre-wired last week with a couple of calls to Cam for pointers to make sure I wasnt screwing something up... Thxs Cam!)

Not this week, but finished the disc brake swap a few weeks ago so I could get it off the jackstands and out of the way for a proper cleaning of the garage.

And, got the family out to see my kid's teachers do a parade through the neighboorhood. Nice to see how happy everybody was to see each other, albeit from a distance. Even the dog had a good time.

Good job. Where'd you find the cable, and what gauge?

I found it in my garage!
It was left over from a winch rewire on my 80 series. It's Ancor Marine grade 1 AWG from West Marine.
The Positive terminal was leftover from my 80 and the negative terminal was from my old 4Runner. I wrapped the neg cable in black electrical tap later to keep them color correct.

Got an extra set of jack rod holders so I could store the lug wrench with the jack rods. They are mounted inside and just forward of the originals. It isn’t an OEM lug wrench but PO painted to match. I like it and wanted to keep it.

Electric tape will get messy over time. ‘Magic Wrap’ or 3M splicing tape that bonds to itself will not get gummy over time.

That said it’s important to keep the colours straight. I had a Triumph that’s colours were reversed... when jump starting it and trying to get going, I connected Red-Red and Black-Black... I quickly realized my mistake at the same moment I saw a small spiral of smoke coming from the Lucas alternator. It ran much better after swapping in an Fj40 alternator. :D You’ll know it if you ever see it... it’ll be the Gt6 with Bright headlights that work with the wipers on at the intersection.

What have I done to my Land Cruiser this past winter and I'm still not finished?????

How about ARB front locker, fine spline chrome-moly axles, V6 vented front disk brakes, knuckle rebuild, 4" springs replacing 2-1/2" springs, Taurus electric fan install, remote air tank, shortened front bumper, extended axle breathers and much, much more. (PO had already installed rear ARB, Warn full floater rear axles and Monte Carlo disk brakes, so now it will be matching front and rear)

Today, replaced the manifold gasket(s). Had been running the Remflex gasket, did not work for me. Probably operator error. So I got a pair of Fel-Pro gaskets and a can of Copper Coat. I also had 6 of the metric plugs for the air rail holes, and while the manifolds were off, put those in too. Replacing the 1/4" NPT plugs I'd had in there.
