You know the moon is close to full if you follow me. I've heard of 3 Porsches (997 Turbo, GT3 and 911S) playing follow the leader sans headlights from Jubilee Pass to Furnace Creek. Not sure who told me though. :grinpimp:

Did the Gold Mountain and John Bull Jr trails in big bear. Really shouldn't have been on John Bull Jr. Did some damage to the bumpers and slid into a tree which creased the passenger door. My spotter was really good or it would have been much worse. Luckily, I had put the Trail Tailor RLCA skids on the day before. You can see the scrapes. I fixed the bumpers pretty quick with a heat gun.

Put a one-way drain into my airbox today. I had originally sealed up the hole when I put the snorkel on, but after driving through a heavy rainstorm I had far more water in there than I'd like (probably 1/2 to 1 cup). I bought this one way valve off Amazon. Water pours out when I put a cup of water in, it dribbles when nearly empty, and I test blowing as hard as I possibly could on the other end and it definitey seals shut. A bit of RTV to seal it up and it seems to work nicely.

Side note: I did notice my airbox-to-snorkel tube had come a bit loose. Fixed it up, but a good reminder for everyone with a snokel to occasionally check the clamps and make sure the hose is still tight!

I've never had it happen but in VT you can fail annual inspection for front window with tint (unless you have a letter from an eye doctor)

....I removed front window tint...Now I can see better at night....I need to eat more carrots.

By "front window", do you mean door windows, or windshield? I bought a car from Texan once and it had tint on all the windows except the windshield. My local inspection place wouldn't sticker the car until I peeled the tint off the front 2 side windows.

Continued my Power Steering flush and reservoir replacement.

One thing I learned.. the procedure is to get the front wheels into the air, remove the old fluid, disconnect the return line, seal that nipple on the reservoir, and extend the return line into a catch can. You then fill with new fluid, and WITH THE ENGINE OFF, go through 3 full sweeps of the steering. Well, I did two and decided to check level. It had used all the fluid in the reservoir! So I topped it up, and did a few more with only one sweep, then refill, sweep, fill. Took 5 or 6 total to get the fluid coming out same color as going in.

Then you hook everything up, fill with fluid, and do the same sweeps with the engine running. No air to speak of in my case

I used Dexron VI that I had sitting around.. toyota calls for Dex III but this stuff is supposed to be backward compatible, and it being synthetic got my attention. I might run this for a while as I research true synthetic PS fluid that isn't red and won't dye my new reservoir. CHF11S is great stuff.. but need to make sure it won't mess anything up.

I have them on their side to make it obvious the line is residue, not the fluid.

Yeah, I could have cleaned it, but it'd still be discolored and definitely not as clean as new.

140k on that old res, with only one PS flush and "conditioner" added at about 60k.

I might start a thread on this whenever I get around to cutting the old one open and seeing wtf the gray/black stuff is. For now though.. durango/silverton/ouray for a week or so.

Installed a 8-circuit Powerpole distribution block. Along with a HAM and GMRS radio, just in time for LCDC.

Installed Trail Tailor front tow points, Factor 52 rear tow point and TVD vinyl decals on the rear. Also got it registered in my home state of IL. I went with the gray on the decals rather than the black. Still not sure if I should have gone with black.

That's a trail of boulders .. been down it a few times in my FJ40 and friends with Jeeps. Couple spots had some friends balance the rig.

Any on the trail pics with the 200?

This thread needs to be in the sticky section like the 80 and 100 tech forums.
