Ya, the HUUUGE slit in the carpet under the front seats is crazy...almost like someone was trying to create a trap-door for crud to get lost in!

Any reason not to use some gaffer's tape to prevent things from rolling in there?

Gaffer's tape is sometimes sold as 'No residue' duct tape, the idea being you can tape up something, peel off the tape later and it won't take up the paint or leave behind adhesive.

Added another LED dome light in the stock cargo dome light spot. Years ago I upgraded it to an LED factory replacement bulb, but that burned out a while ago (it's amazing how many of these 10,000 hour LED's never make it that long... I replaced it with the exact same model I put in the hatch. I could have easily wired it to the door trigger wire, but that isn't a priority for us, so I just wired it to the same switch that controls the hatch light.

Almost looks "factory"

After with both LED's:

@619TOY , those drawers came out nice. Beautiful work.
Mind posting up the model and vendor for the light. That sucker looks bright!

wait... the LC's have a light on the hatch door? My LX just has a plastic rectangular panel that comes off with nothing behind it lol

No. He added that. We have the same rectangular panel, though some of us have used that spot to add an internal rear hatch release button.

Finally got some wheels. Volk Racing TE37 Ultra 20x9.5 +55 wrapped with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 275/55/20. Pricey wheels but wow they are light... 23.19 lbs vs. OEM Tundra 20x8 at 36.82 lbs. Also got to save 6 lbs. per corner vs. the stock 18s. 67 lbs each vs. 73 lbs.
The 275/55/20 tires are a almost a 32" but they seem taller than the 285/75/16 33" Coopers on my 80

Very nice! Please post some daylight photos when you can.

I love the Volk TE-37-based wheels -- I even put a set of LE-37s on my LS 430. :)

I wonder if I could find and led fixture to recess in there that runs on batteries so there is no wiring involved

Thanks, I appreciate that:) The lights are Maxxima model M84427-A. They're about 530 lumens each. I got mine direct from Maxxima and while they only retail for about $16, retailers seem to really mark them up:rolleyes: I've had mine for a few years and the design has changed slightly I think. Here's a little more info on my hatch install on starting on post #4.

Your LS430 looks awesome with the LE-37's! Love the color of those wheels. Yup I love the TE37 style too. Probably the most iconic Japanese wheel and they look good on almost any car. I also have a set of TE37SL Black Editions on my Toyota 86 :)

Here are the daytime photos..

Beautiful. I have been running Volk TE37 (as low as 9lb) in my other cars from the late 90s.

Nice to see some LC owners buying quality good wheels.

Bravo :)

Don't know who or what caused it, but the A pillar support for the snorkel stripped out. All 3! ARB was great to send replacements, although it was super rare for this to occur, they said. Made for a good Saturday project to replace

Post pics of the tires! I almost went with those, but I did 275/65/20 KO2s instead.
