I showed her that episode when she complained about a spoiled milk smell in the car… she had spilled some into the ventilated seats…

That sounds -awful-.

About two years ago, I must point out that this was during the summer, I had a Sienna that was owned by an Indian man. He had been transporting a LARGE amount of food and had a bit of a spill disaster… 2 gallons of basundi (an Indian milk-based dessert), and an even larger amount of a curry chicken dish disappeared into the carpet/floors.

It had been dropped off in our parking lot on Saturday afternoon and I got around to checking it out the following Tuesday afternoon. It was eye watering.

It was a learning experience. She no longer takes cereal in the car. Just everything else with no lids.

Haha, reminds me of my buddy's mom who used to crochet, cut up apples with a sharp knife, and lord knows what else, while driving us to school in her manual 280zx 2+2

How easy is that to do?

Doesn't the gasket let water through anyways? Hence the sunroof drains?

Yes some water will get through. But as the gasket ages that amount can increase, possibly overwhelming the tray drains, depending on their condition and vehicle orientation when parked.

It takes a little while to get the new gasket worked into its grooves in the panel but not too bad. Under an hour. I was more afraid of breaking the plastic clips holding in the accordian bits than I should have been. But they were super easy. Just pull inward from the top/back of each one then work forward.

Then two pretty tight t25 torx screws on each side and the panel lifts right out. Old gasket pulls right off, clean the grooves of pollen/dirt, work new one back on.

The only somewhat tricky part is adjusting the level of the glass to match the roof line once it’s back in. Not very bad. I also had to recalibrate the auto-close function, and I greased the rails while I was up there.

Thanks. Is this the part number? 6325112190

Yessir.

Edit for others coming along later: that number is technically from an LX and will show as incompatible with a 200-series Landcruiser in parts systems online. But that is a quirk of Toyota’s system. It is correct for Landcruisers too.

I had a new AC compressor and clutch installed. Not a fun bill and prevented my plans for a trail ride near the Tetons.

While I was having an exhaust shop do some welding for a shock mount repair/mod, I had them change my exhaust tip from this:

The top pic is from right after my resonator delete. It has worked OK but would hit my
LRA tank bracket when I wheeled. The pipe had gotten pretty squashed so it was time to fix. New pipe won’t hit the bracket now and is higher up so maybe I won’t drag it on rocks as much now.

then and now

Homestretch: intake manifold, fuel rails + injectors + fuel crossover lines, radiator + upper & lower hoses, fan shroud, viscous fan, drive belt, pink coolant, atf, ps fluid and burp em.

Used five 12oz bottles of idemitsu psf to do some suck and fills of the reservoir.
not 100% new but much better than before. going to keep doing this often to get get it a bit more clean.

is there a way to take the reservoir out to clean it? my old fluid was so black the walls of the reservoir looks dirty. no wonder I thought the fluid was black.

1st pic - before/last suck
2nd pic - before/after/new fluid for comparison.

I couldn't find a good way to clean mine so I just replaced it.

suck out the fluid, unhook the hose, unbolt the 3 bolts?

Basically. I will say the return hose is *very* difficult to get off it's position on the reservoir. Don't go crazy with it as that position is a plastic nipple.
