Has anyone installed/using this? I'd like to use the mount for my Torque App on a Samsung tablet. On my Touareg I ran the windshield version but given where the power source is (USB) attaching it to the passenger side seat bolt seems a cleaner solution. Any thoughts? TIA

No experience with that, but I put an iPad Pro on one of these occasionally.

On Wednesday I installed an OEM block heater and new OEM rear hatch struts on my LX, in anticipation of temperatures approaching -40 in the Canadian prairies. We were heading out to a hotel in a national park, and didn't trust it would start without the block heater. Also last year the hatch kept falling on my head while unpacking the car at the same hotel.

Truck started slowly, but without issue, and the hatch was standing tall. Many popped hoods in the parking lot and people jockeying for boosts. My jump pack got a workout.

I have a suspension question.
I have a 2009 tlc with original stock suspension. Im running 275/70/18 tires on stock 18" rims.
After removing the third row, i thought i had too much rake with the rear being quite a bit higher, especially after the third row removal
Since then Ive added the oem 1" coilover spacer, which helped a bit, but still has too much rake. Id like the front to come up another .5"-1" higher.
Question is, can I run the dobinson ims front struts which are height adjustable and remove the 1" spacer to get the around 2" wanted in the front without replacing the springs. On former toyotas ive run the billstein 5100's on the middle setting too get leveled with stock springs.
Can i do the same thing with the front dobinson ims struts?
Thx

I would not recommend it.

Suspensions work as a systems. Doing only the front axle will likely result in the rear being relatively under-damped Body motions will transfer to the rear causing it to oscillate far more than the front.

If you're price sensitive, I would recommend Bilsteins all around, that give you the front adjustable perch. Note you want to keep some rake, as any load in the rear will cause it to visually drag butt. Rear shocks are super easy to swap too if you do Dobinsons all around.

Another option is to get the E&E front shock spacer that incrementally taller than the OEM spacer. Might put you in your happy place.

Thanks! I plan to keep a 1/2 inch rake.
Which billsteins? I can't find 5100 for the 200. Is it the 6112? I plan to replace the rear struts as well. I was thinking the dobinson ims fronts would be similar to billsteins, being that they are height adjustable and putting the ims rears in too. But keeping the stock 200 springs.. if I replace struts front and rear, do you see a problem with keeping the stock springs?
Thx again

Replaced my hood struts with a set from Lift Support Depot. The stock ones were getting dangerous to be under the hood. Would only stay when fully up. Any other position they would let loose.
I went with Lift Support as they are 1/4 the cost of OEM. While I highly recommend OEM for the power liftgate ( as I had a pretty significant failure with the Lift Supports vs power motor) They should be fine under the hood. I can replace them 4 times before I hit the cost of OEMs. Probably 12 years or more and it is a very simple job.

New @white-knuckleoffroad sliders going in!

How did you manage the rub/clearance?
It has a dobinsons lift with dobinsons uppers, and the wheels are 25mm offset. With the narrower 10.50 tire, it just barely kisses the kdss arm at full lock. Probably gonna need to do a kdss relocation just for peace of mind. It rubs way less than the previous 305/55-r20 bfg ATs did.

Granted, I haven't taken it offroad, yet, so we will see what's gonna be necessary once it gets a little twisty.
