Let me know how they ride! Seems like OME Slee is known to be too stiff. I want something close to OEM plushness but with a lift.

i dont think your going to find that. all these 3" lifts are going to be firm it your looking for plush your just going to have to put spacers in your oem springs and gain a little bit

Where is the final pick fish? And what size tires you running :)
ill snap some final photos tomorow. still waiting on two of the rear rims primer to breath will paint and clearcoat tomorow :)

Installed the slee dif drop kit today along with re indexing the torsion bars. Man those torsion bars are a pain! I was going to install the OME865 rear springs for a lift in the back BUT I realize now that my front end will still be lower. It sits level now with my torsion bars cranked but I don’t know that I can crank them anymore. Does this mean I need spacers in the front or do I just have to bite the bullet and get new shocks front and rear to match?

It all started with a replacing defective upper ball joints that came with an early version of the SPC UCA and brake job last summer, culminating in complete front suspension rebuild. I put the new CV in today, along with LCA bushings.

This morning, ready to start. Luckily I bought 2 diff oil seals, as I boogered one trying to install it after I had put on the LCA. Nowadays I just take all the $hit off to get good access to the part I am working on, except this time.

SLight detour to clean out mud from getting stuck on a trip last week due to no cruiser D'Oh. Moving blanket to protect hood from tow strap I attached prior to entering ruts. Blanket also protected hood from the mud sprayed by extracation vehilce (Dodge 3/4)

The springs are super easy to swap out. I have some pics in my thread if you need reference for torsion bars to.

The torsion bars can be re indexed. It’s not hard if they are not stuck on. Otherwise you may need to hammer. They are not tuff, just multiple parts to deal with. Will take 3-4 hours.

There’s a thread called ‘for those with torsion bar questions’ it’s got good info.

I've reached the point where my rack is on and my tent has finally been installed for the first time. I drove down and picked it up in Bend (@ CVT) and then brought it back home to Portland. My rig actually handled surprisingly well up over the pass with that fairly heavy and bulky unit up there. But now I wonder which direction I'll need to go with the rear springs when I get it fully loaded down for camping. I've got OME 2865's (with a spacer) in there now, I have 2863's waiting in the garage, but I'm starting to wonder if I just ought to go right to the 2864's with all the camping gear, water, tools, refrigerator, supplies, and whatever else will eventually be loaded. I guess I'll just have to see how it reacts as I put it all together. But one thing is certain- I'll get lots of experience changing out the rear springs.

I have the 2864's on a simlar setup as you, and they are great. I was worried it would drive too stiff, but I actually think it's a little smoother with all the weight.

Replaced in cabin air filters. Then made a visit to Ben and got the new front bumper installed before enjoying a night camping.

neilsen100,

Great looking truck. You should definitely update your build thread with all the new mods that you have on there. Would love to see more pics of this thing.

I re indexed them yesterday via instructions from that thread. It maxed out on my driver side though I believe. I did all required steps and turned the bar while threads were exposed and pushed the back end bracket up as high as it would go and zip tied it up and it still seems to not go up high. I might have to use a cheater on it if the braker bar wasn’t enough.... that’s the only thing I can think of. My back end is at 19 1/8 I believe and the fronts were level but then drove it and checked again and now they dropped to 18 1/2 in the front. I’m feeling a little discouraged honestly.

But how are they when the tent is off, and your gear is out? Mine will only be loaded for trips. The rest of the time I drive it mostly empty other than a set of drawers in the back. Did you use spacers? (don't those springs give you a 3" or so lift as it is?)

Thanks!

You may need to adjust several times to get it right. Took me a few times to figure out how to re index and tighten things up. I used a breaker bar.
