I took my dad to Batteries+ last Friday to pick up a new Duracell for his 4Runner. After switching them out he put his old one in the back of my truck and forgot to tell me about it. Needless to say I found out it was there this morning....:bang: Luckily it didn't eat all the way through to the carpet underneath, but it still ruined this piece. I'm thinking of just scrapping this carpet and going with one of those cargo mats that I've seen others getting.

by the way, I had an old tacoma, and used the rubber bed mat for as a rear mat pad. I really like it because its non skid (dog likes it) and heavy duty. Cons are its heavy and doesn't have raised edges to contain spills. I think I prefer it to a weather tech liner...

How do you like the T-Max?

I'd pull the carpet and treat entire area with a baking soda mixed with water, to neutralize acid. Do same to any carpet or padding you plan on reusing. Acid will not stop eating unless neutralized.

For $115 on amazon, cant beat that deal anywhere. It was a pretty simple to install. Took me about 2 hours taking my time. I also installed a fuse distribution block back near my main battery. I couldn't find a good location near the Aux battery. I don't love the display unit, but it's functional and works well. I am going to put a small digital display gauge near the shifter for the aux battery. The main has the stock display needle on the dash. I installed the display unit in the glove box so it is accessible, but not hindering the cockpit. I would recommend it.

Working on that right now. This stuff is nasty and turned the carpet into a sludge

Not sure what's making it turn to sludge, but the acid will eat through the paint then metal of floor board if not neutralized. Floor mat, Carpet & padding are toast, I'd assume.

I use baking soda when ever I clean battery or under hood for that matter. Otherwise just the small amount of white flakes of corrosion or nearly invisible acid on a battery will wash down and eat wherever paint & metal it lands on. It's why we find rust under battery tray area.

Took it on a trip to my parents and then made a drive up to Pisgah National Forest. Prior to this I got a set of toyo at2 275/70/18. Only issue I have had is not being able to fit spare underneath any more - appears to be due to the trailer hitch I installed. Has anyone been able to fit this size tire underneath when they install a rear arb bumper? Hopefully front and rear arbs are the next upgrade, as long as it fits.

I have a 275 70 18 bfg ko in the spare location with a hitch, maybe there is some room to make some mods under there to make yours fit?

We just got back from a long weekend camping trip in the Adirondacks. The weather forecast called for rain every day, but we went anyway, and were rewarded with beautiful weather every day but one. I got there first and my daughter helped me set up camp. We had light rain in the evenings and the awning saved the day. Everyone crowded under it in front of the campfire. I was glad this weekend that I had gotten the longer awning.

I drove our family of 3 and my friend's family of 4 an hour and a half to Lake Placid and back and got to use the third row for the first time. My daughter, while back there, was very happy to discover the first aid kit that came with my truck and another ashtray, where she stores sparkly rocks and other things a 6 year old can't go without.

My friend has a Highlander and commented on how much wider my second row seems to be.

I always hate to come home from camping and my wanderlust-filled daughter has taken to crying every time we pull out of a campground.

Did it make it through the carpet, or contained to the mat?
Luckily it was contained on the mat. Got everything cleaned and neutralized and now I'm looking at a rubber mat to put back there in its place
