Did my plugs today. New vs old at ~50k. Anyone know what the letters refer to? HLR vs SMR?

Cleaned the TB and MAF while I was in there. Definitely felt some more pop in the acceleration.

Changed all 3 motor mounts and front driveshaft. Front motor mounts are a bit of a pain to get in and out. All mounts had started to separate off the metal and they where compressed so they were at the end of there life after 18 years and 170,000 miles. I changed the front drive shaft due to excessive end play after fitting new oem u joints about 6 months ago.

What did you do on the drive shaft? Double Cardan? I'm thinking about the same. We are trying some new heavy duty ujoints first (driving with front out and CDL until tomorrow).

Why so early?

Why so early?

The truck has 167k on it, and the PO said he thought they were changed at 120 but couldn't remember. No documentation at the dealer. Mostly just peace of mind and I felt like drinking a beer outside with my hands dirty. They were all pretty similar but some were better than others. As I mentioned, definitely felt more lively after the new plugs went in.

Saw a nicely built dark grey 100 on the way from Iowa to South Dakota, headed southbound on I-29. We both noticed each other. Then another Thundercloud with old style spoiler headed east on 90.

I am relaxing in back of Cruiser with my super emo dog, waiting out a thunderstorm that is currently dropping goofball size hail on the campground I am headed to. Yikes. Good thing the back is so spacious!!

Looks like a good, faithful GSD!

Taking Needles Highway? Some really cool tunnels that picture frame Mount Rushmore.

Head north through Billings, MT to save 1.5-2 hours getting to Great Falls. We made that drive 3 times last July, huge time saver. Most of the speed limits on the two lane roads between Billings > Great Falls are 70 or 75. Obviously don't go this way if you're hitting up Yellowstone or wanting to see anything along the freeway route. Scenery is pretty much the same in my opinion.

We're heading up tomorrow afternoon, looking forward to some Montana :)

Well, shoot. Have reservations at Missouri Headwaters campground, so that won't work. Maybe I'll give that a think tonight...thanks for the heads up

AHC fluid swap and oil change (M209 + M1 5w30), added some brighter fog lights as well. Bought an additional key, but haven't figure out how to program the immobiliser, wireless remote was easy.

Old suspension fluid looked dirty.

Be very cautious upgrading the front fog lights. I put in the highest recommended Philips bulbs I could, and it melted the projector housing.

Purchased 16" LX wheels from another local LXer, and upgraded to 285/75/r16 Duratracs. I've had the Duratracs on my old LR3 and love the tire. It's the perfect tire for Colorado IMO - great offload capability, and fantastic when winter arrives.

I love those tires, I have a 2" lift with the same size tires, got an alignment because of heavy wear on the outer edges of the tires in the front. Keep an eye on that there is a nub on every other chunk that lets you know the wear on the edges, my alignment was not off they told me I need to rotate them every 3k miles, they don't have a lot of miles on them right now and they are wearing heavily on the edges
