AHC fluid swap and oil change (M209 + M1 5w30), added some brighter fog lights as well. Bought an additional key, but haven't figure out how to program the immobiliser, wireless remote was easy.

Old suspension fluid looked dirty.

Headed up to Laurel Lakes, near Mammoth to camp with @sortmanfdxg . Found the snow hadn't melted enough to get to the lakes where we intended to camp, but we found a great spot nonetheless.

I could have done without destroying a rear tire on a rock, but otherwise it was an awesome trip. Was running ~20 psi in my Cooper ST Maxx 275/70-18 E-rated tires. Oh well.

On the way up

At 10K feet, no one seemed willing to dig into this so we could drive through

Not a bad way to end a day!

I see what I missed. BEAUTIFUL.....

Looks great and I love those wheels. Are those LX570 wheels?
Appreciate the kind words.

They are LX570 wheels - they were first produced in a bright silver and then later models came in a hyper silver / gunmetal color.

These are the gunmetal ones.

Believe it or not there is a full matching spare underneath!

Replaced brake motor/accumulator (thanks Ranma21) and did master cylinder rebuild - it was all working - I'm just trying to prevent the dreaded brake failure syndrome. I work SO SLOW! Started on Sunday, finished on Thursday! (probably 7 hours all together ). I found, like others, that the terminals on the underside of the motor were corroded. On the new motor I coated them with liquid electrical tape (from Lowe's). Turned out OK. I was surprised how poor the brake fluid looked - I thought my mechanic had flushed it about six months ago. Do you think it could get ugly that fast???

How did you destroy the rear tire? Any pics? I have the same tires and they seem very tough.

The Coopers have been great and seem plenty tough to me too. Overall I like this tire a lot and in fact just bought a set for my BJ74 (more info here). I'd guess my tires were aired down too far (~20 PSI) for the weight I was carrying (a lot) and the speed I was moving. Was scanning for places to camp and enjoying the view when I hit a rock and heard the air escaping very quickly.

No pics trailside, but here are a couple as the tire sits today (replacement on the way).

Had to roll down the trail a bit to get to a wider and flatter spot to I could change the tire, so my rim took a bit of a beating and the tire separated from the rim.

Finally get to test whether a BFH will straighten a steel wheel

lol! glad they made the ride with the axle and also can live a new life in California!

Did a 2.5 quart incremental drain and fill on the tranny. After two years and ~25k miles the fluid looked really good, so I skipped the full flush I was prepared to do.
That's two years and 25k miles on Maxlife ATF in a WS ATF tranny, for the record. Still shifting buttery smooth.

Replaced heater hose t's. Strutted around garage as if mechanically competent. Then Managed to diagnose broken sway bar links and was brought back to reality.

So .....I've got next week planned.

So I was in the process of purchasing a Yakima Skybox 21.. And after a few helpful suggestions from the forum, I was planning on getting the Yakima cross bars as well.

I wasn't in love with spending all this money when what I really wanted was a Gamiviti rack.

Well my neighbor was outside and I asked him about his Yakima load bars - short story long - he had a Thule cargo box in his attic. Offered it up and I gladly accepted.

There are 2 unfortunate parts to the story:

1 being that the Thule box was only 12 cu ft and 2 the spoiler on my LX hits the back of the box and because Lexus had to shorten the roof rack to look fancier than the 100 I can't move it any more forward....
I knew I should've bought a 100 instead :grinpimp:

Not sure on the LX, but on my 98 LC, the spoiler comes off in about 30 seconds. 4 socket cap screws and slides right off.

Really appreciate the idea. If it's that easy then id give it a go .. I do have a brake light on the spoiler so I wondering what the wiring would be like?

Valve cover gaskets, tensioner assembly (bearing sounded like it was going bad so I just upgraded to the new one), new front wheel bearings, seafoam, oil change, zerk grease, and now on a witch hunt for a vibration that still plagues my truck. :bang:

U-joints are the culprit I think.
