The spray paint that I had applied to the side moldings started coming off.. Initially thought of repainting it but ended up applying some 3M Scotchlite Reflective tape in black over that.. This is black in normal light and reflects white when a light shines on it..

A picture with the flash..

Timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, serpentine belt, ALL fluids changed, new BFG AT/KO2's installed, installed new actuator motor for drivers door (thanks IM8MUD), professionally detailed inside/out, and am getting bearings re packed Saturday with new rotors/brakes all the way around. Then getting undercarriage rustproofed and painted to look new.

Hope you are doing some of that yourself. If not where are you getting the work done? I'm in NJ and am looking for a good shop besides the dealer.

I did the door actuator motor replacement, local Toyota dealer did timing belt and fluids (ex Lexus mechanic did all work), a friend of a friend did the detail work (has detail shop and hooked me up), and local private mechanic who specializes in imports is doing repack, new boots, and new rotors/brakes all the way around for $800. Got tires at a local store for employee price (another friend). A local mechanic who does side work is doing the rust proof and frame paint for $250. It's a nice chunk of change, but Christine is almost like new again :)

Most 06 and 07 LCs had AHC. Hence why the unicorn LC is a non nav, non AHC, 06+ with the VVi motor.
The dealership I bought my cruiser from has a very clean 2007 with 99k miles on it without nav! They usually have multiple cruisers on the lot and this one originally came from Puerto Rico I believe.

By "this week" I mean the past 12 months, but...

Brought it home:

2004, 105K, southwest-only truck, dealer paid for a full detail and timing belt. Once I re-detailed it I began to fix the assorted nit-noid crap that bugged me.

Fake wood, satellite radio receiver, and ruined paint all removed:

Dented door panel swapped out for an undented version:

Also, to whatever Toyota engineer thought this was a good idea, I'm sorry, I had nothing to do with WWII, there is no need to punish me...

I imagine I'll mostly continue to lurk here unless I come across something that has yet to detailed in the forums. Due to some changes in plans the truck will be remaining stock as the family truckster, a role it seems to be doing well, if thirstily, so far.

PS: I apologize if the photos are huge, Photobucket and I are having some disagreements.

Totally understand the ocd! I suffer as well lol

Does the dealer have a website?

Cool looks like my LC. Is it a U.S. Truck? Mine came from Mexico.

After nearly a year of owning it, I finally got my tires and lift. I just did a the 30 mm spacers in the back and had the tire shop crank the torsion bars for me. while I was putting the spacers in the back I also put the Airlift 1000 bags in. They work great. Took 7 people all their clothes and food and a boat to Wallowa Lake for a long weekend and we still sat level. Nice!

Here are some before and after for you.

I finally feel like I have a Land Cruiser instead of a big nice minivan. :)

Carpet color change from grey to tan on my subwoofer box for my new to me LC from my "old" LC. Also pulled front Gabriel shocks and sway and link bushings waiting for a shipment from mr.T to finish. I'll do rear shocks another time. Sure is weird working on a 15 old truck with no rust on it Las Vegas truck I bought earlier this year. [Image-1.jpgImage-1.jpgATTACH=full]1123902[/ATTACH]

Well...I went in to get new brakes, which turned out to be a bad ujoint, which turned out to be just really bad rear balancing.

So I celebrated by getting tires balanced...with 4 new BFG A/Ts :)

I spent a couple hours removing the nasty wood trim. I tried using this 3M adhesive remover http://www.amazon.com/3M-03618-Adhesive-Remover-oz/dp/B000BQYA7W. STAY AWAY. It ate the finish on one of of the arm rest pieces and now i have to paint it. So if im going to that one, im thinking of doing them all. I will most likely use Krylon as i used it on my old truck fenders at it lasted years without fading or cracking.

I do need to remove the center and stereo console so i can paint that too. Some pics of the process so far. I have not finished and will go another round next weekend. Im going to buy Goo Gone spray and use that as i have seen some pretty good results on youtube. And I purchsed plastic trim removers from harbor freight for $8. They helped tremendously. They are the yellow plastic on the center console pic.

How to remove the center console and stereo? I want to take it completely off without the buttons or AC controls so i can really clean it and paint it. Is there a matching Krylon color code for these pieces?

On my 2000 I removed the random peanut dongle from the passenger side frame, fixed a rusty seat mount, and bypassed the amp which fixed my speaker and head unit!
