New key. It won't break like the others but is a little awkward in removing from tumbler.

Oh and when I took it apart to put my key remote guts in it the spring mechanism was a pain in the cuss to puzzle back together.

Got busy playing with my fj43 but managed to install my ih8mud sticker.

1- Replaced the heater T's.

2- My key shell cracked so $5 later I got a new key from Amazon and local locksmith cut it for free

3- not Land Cruiser related but I also replaced the oil cooler O ring on my wife's Nissan Pathfinder.

Pulled the rear axles out in a vain attampt to change out the seals. The inner seal not too bad. The outter seal.... thats another story.... Going to take them in to have the bearings and the rest of the stack replaced. Complete mess! On the bright side I'll probably never hav to do it again....

Had heater hoses and T's replaced (used brass T's).

Found a killer deal on a set of '09 Tundra wheels with nearly new Bridgestone Dueller A/T's. Plasti-dipped them, bored out the center of the from grease caps but still can't get them on. Grrrr.

I now have pure snow tires on the 16's, this new set of 18's for intermediate use, and the OEM 18's still in silver for summertime. Is it possible to have too many sets of rims and tires as long as the price is right? ;)

Before and after below:

Gave her a bath after work, spring will be here soon! One of my coworkers said he couldn't believe this thing is 17 years old. He admitted his Discovery and LR4 have not aged well at all and that his next full-size will be a Toyota.

I really like the look of the new wheels. Ride is firmer but still compliant, not harsh at all. Cornering is somewhat better, nothing like a sports car but then again, these are not vehicles you take into the twisties!

Plan on doing front and rear brakes soon. Need to rebuild the parking brake as well!

Did I ever tell you guys I love my truck? :)

which dust caps are you using on those rims?

took off the side steppers. for those who said it took them 30 minutes for both side you guy must have some super duper air ratchets that fit in there. there is one 12mm bolt on the passenger side rear that need a nice angle wrench to get to. and that removal of one of the rear ac hose bracket. havent wrenched on my own ride for a while.

On mine that bolt didn't have to be removed . The hole on the bracket was large enough to slide over the head of the bolt.

Finally (!) finished soundproofing the lower half of the LC.

After (below) - Decided to keep the vapor barrier intact and only added a few strips of Dynamat to the outer skin and some BAM around the speaker edges. I noticed that there was some dust around the edges of the door. Looks like the plate for the speaker is about 1/4" too thick and causes a gap between the door panel and metal. No big deal though since I used the BAM to fill the gap. All in all, something this simple just "tightened" up the sound (e.g. fewer unwanted noises).
