Swapped the rear lower links & cleaned her up after playing on the rocks, waiting on the tail light from the scrap yard now.

Not much actual wrenching this week, mostly ordering and hunting. Pulled the trigger on TEQ Customs BiLED retrofits, those should land in September. Also ordered the green tint corners from Cruiser Patch.
Still chasing an 03-05 Cygnus grille with the Toyota emblem and the rear badges for my 04 LX470. Turns out that is the hard part.

Replaced the high beams and rear blinkers with LEDs, installed the ARB Front bumper (got a killer deal after messaging a guy 10 minutes after he posted it for sale. $1,500 dollars never installed). That was more of a job than I thought it would be and the ARB instructions SUCKKKKK. Retensioned the winch and cranked the torsion bars up so now I’m sitting .5” above stock (lost .5” after the bumper so 1” lift). New wheels and tires will come with my next commission check, the wife might kill me if I bought more right now lol
Posting a before and after

Also did my first oil change on ol girl. Significantly easier than the 5th gen 4Runner simply because of the oil filter. The 5th gen was kinda a pain.

Hooked up a used OEM ac condenser fan. She was severely struggling while sitting in traffic/carpool line. It would start blowing almost warm after a few min. With the fan hooked up and running, it stays ice cold now. Just waiting on OEM pigtails and connector housings so I can hook it up to the pressure switch like I’d like to.

Edit: I’m questioning the accuracy of this infrared thermo right now, but this is after 10 min of sitting stationary in 90 degree full sun. View attachment 4198161
Do you have a part number for that OEM fan?

I managed to get my passenger side valve cover off this past week and have not been able to make any further progress due to lack of a plastic scraper to get the mating surface clean. I ordered a special plastic scraper with special scotch brite pad to make sure that I don't do the job like the previous owner's shop did less than 6 months and 5K miles ago. The valve gasket was new but mangled probably due to overtorquing. The maintenance record said that they changed all 8 ignition coils....Nope just a one with an after market one. I am sure they charged the previous owner for 8.

I am wondering if they even did the timing belt that supposedly was done last year (this is a 4.5/5 star rated shop in the Salem OR area) I guess I am going to find out soon enough.

All back together, just need to install the snap rings in the mail and seal the cases. (Then I guess I also have to put the box back in the truck). 5 forward 1 backwards, hopefully it doesn’t explode. All new bearings, input shaft, and made sure my thrust clearance was good.
