Is there any reason to look for a new (super expensive as they are discontinued intake air pipe / resonator) vs a silicone air cleaner intake like Pardon Our Interruption... - https://www.ebay.com/itm/317068362965 with HPS resonator cap / clamps
Its been a few years since I did my engine rebuild and needed a replacement intake air pipe, but if I remember correctly the extra sections the OEM version have are to reduce noise levels. There used to be a K&N air intake pipe that people would swap to once their OEM version was broken, but not sure if it is still available.

Edit: check out this link - air intake pipe from k&n or airaid - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/air-intake-pipe-from-k-n-or-airaid.1246679/

I did the K&N intake back in October. 10/10
Part number is 57-9027

Finally got around to installing a Long Range America (LRA) 40 gallon replacement fuel tank. Install is pretty straightforward around 10 hours total going slow. I ordered new parts so had everything ready before I dropped the tank.

Highly recommend that you disconnect the driveshaft at the rear by removing the 4 14mm bolt/nuts and swinging out towards the passenger. Also recommend removing the nut on the driver side rear lower control arm and taking a hammer to the bolt (just flush). Doing both will provide so much more clearance.

Transmission jack would have been helpful. I used a floor jack with straps to get the new tank up.

When I bought the Lexus it had a windshield crack in the bottom half in the middle, I figured I’d replace it since I just got it. 5k later I get this… they’ve been doing road work near my job. I’m gonna use insurance this time but the shop I went to last time said they would do the tint again for free so that’s nice. Perks of being a repeat customer I guess

Really been thinking about an LRA tank but leaning more towards the aux tank since the 40 gal hangs kinda low

I strongly suggest adding some heat shielding to the tank.

That’s awesome! Can you tell us more about how the brakes feel? Thanks!
The brakes feels like factory on regular stop and go around town. I haven’t changed anything yet in the brake bias, most likely in the next few months in prep for our Montana and Colorado trip this summer. It’s shines on peculiar situations which I had two already (near animal strike in UT and freeway hard braking in SoCal) since putting them on, better brake torque is obvious. It feels like it’s back to stock weight like it had no 35s and all the additional mass.

Thanks! Added 3 layers in front by crossover, 2 layers by the muffler, and 1 layer towards the rear. I still need to do the fuel lines.

You are not the only one. I just completed two small jobs on my LS400 that took no more the 15 min for both that I have been procrastinating for over 6 months to a year. Lol

Put the rear Perry Parts bump stops on. Snapped the left bolt in the frame on the original bump stop. Instead of trying to drill it out I just welded a same thread pitch bolt to it at the frame level and cut the head off. Worked great. Much quicker / less frustrating than drilling out.

Guys,
Don’t want to spam the threads but one of our own needs us.

Our good friend and vendor @plaidwagon was in a bad accident. Details on the link down below.

Kyle’s a good egg. Give if you can. My family leaned on the goodwill of this community when my wife and I were in an accident in 2022 and we wouldn’t have been able to keep a roof over our heads without it.

I finally tackled a whole bunch of defered items that were pending for too long. I replaced the brake fluid as well as the AHC fluid. Installed new wipers, front and rear. Replaced the AC filter, gasket, and cleared the drain. Replaced PCV valve, hose, and grommet. I need to order the hose for the passenger side. Replaced fuel sending unit and gasket. Vacuumed interior, washed rubber floor mats, and washed exterior, door jams, and engine bay. I noticed a leak on the power steering hose going into the reservoir. The hoses are hard and no longer pliable. Not sure if I should order OEM hoses and clamps or use generic hoses and hose clamps.

For the money I think you could be okay with getting aftermarket hoses, especially the low pressure line. I have a whole new P/S system in my garage I need to swap and everything is OEM minus the high pressure line and reservoir.
