Oil change 291,402 miles 1999 LX470

Added fumoto drain valve (can’t wait to use it in 6 months 😂):

The oil cap came in handy when I inevitably forgot how much oil to add…

I replaced the cabin air filters on the 'Melon this weekend; it had been a long time since I'd done it (ugh), so it turned into a bigger project as I vacuumed the housing.

I also installed 200-series arm rests from One Stone Armrests. So far so good, but we'll have to see how long the paint lasts (would not recommend painting them, I just didn't like them in black):

I also got my onboard air setup buttoned down, pretty pleased with the results. With dual batteries in the engine compartment (with the associated accessories) and a SwitchPro unit also in the engine compartment, I didn't have a good place for the compressor in there so I had to improvise. Happy that the could reuse the hose I already had:

@Exiled I like your paracord grab handles. I have a victory 4x4 rack similar to your Prinsu and pulling up on it is a little rough on the mitts sometimes. Might need to get an arts and crafts day happening sometime.

Thanks! It's not just the edges, in the summer those black racks get hotter than Hades! :)

I didn't make mine, got them from a guy in Hawaii who sells them online, in whatever color combo you want and uses SS hardware.

I really like how those armrests turned out. Very curious how well that paint holds up. What paint did you use? That is a great match to the factory interior.

Let me know if you are really in the marked for a set. I may be shedding mine at some point

What configuration do you have in yours?

I noticed the other day I had one of these on a shelf and it just occurred to me from this post that these might work well for a grab handle also. Not as cool as paracord thought!

Paracord is cool. I didn't think of that but ordered a set of these. Have held up for almost two years now. I may have used different hardware but I can't remember. Pactrade Marine Durable Rubber... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VTV87I6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

interior ceiling rack and paper towel holder info please.

Interior ceiling rack is from Victory 4x4, I went that way because I already had the side panels and they were first to market, but I think ProSpeed now offers an alternative that is worth exploring.

The paper towel holder is one of my favorite cheap mods on the truck, it's a two-piece magnetic holder which makes it super practical to move around while camping and then stowing where you see it in the picture. Got it from DC Cargo, and it was only $14! :)

I'm intrigued by what appears to be a dash cover with storage pouches in there. How do you like it? What do you keep in it?
Yes, that's one of the ones from Escape Gear (sold by Equipt). I've had them for several years and love them, it's a great crap catcher for trips and I usually keep binoculars, charging cables, paper towels, snacks, etc..) in it. Totally worth it in my opinion and i already had some sun damage spots on the dash (AZ/TX truck for 25 years) and i didn't want further damage.

Replaced driver’s door handle and passenger’s mirror. Both were broken on account of trail incidents…trees mostly

Replacing the door handle there are three 10mm bolts. Last one is accessible through a hole in the backside door with a clear weatherproofing sticker over it. With the handle pulled out the bolt is accessible.

For the mirror, door card etc is removed. Pretty straight forward replacement

Did you toss the guts to your mirror? My gears are loose and you can adjust my mirror by pushing on the glass. Slight shaking at speeds. Might be able to piece it together from your left over parts.

Ok, I guess I'll be the one to ask about the armrests:
How do the arm rests stay in place? I looked on their website and saw the metal flange that slips in by the window seal but how does the rest attach, sticky tape?
They look like a really good idea to me, as long as they can be mounted firmly and not easily knocked off.

These are the 200 Series model, which does not use a metal flange and attaches only with 3M sticky tape. Time will tell how they hold up.
