Notice the black heap had to be shackled to a blazer. I was up to underside of body in mud. Frame and suspension buried. I was in no position to be choosy. I say the FJ did it!

All in fun. I actually have a Rubicon (err, my wife has a Rubicon). They're fine vehicles but I can hear them over of the JK forum now bragging about how they had to pull a land cruiser out of the mud. I assure you, they'll leave out the details of the blazer and FJ having to help.

What was the rating of the shackle?
I am using 4.75T.

Re-aligned the bullbar after our trip last week.
Also checked why the front parking lights in the bullbar didn't work.
Wow, what a cheap light ARB was selling as part of the bar.
Both globes are blown, water in the housing, no seal, corroded.
Time for LEDs.

They were ARB 4.75's.

Cappy, that was a good stuck! Glad the damage was constrained to just the vehicles! You might want to have spare pinion/t-case seals in your parts kit ;).

Yeah, not normally my thing. (Mudding.) My buddy in the Red Ram and I have a bet going that whoever has to pull the other one out first, the guy getting pulled out, has to wear a sticker on the back window of his rig: I got pulled out by a Lexus/Dodge. As soon as he got stuck I rushed to pull him out and promptly got myself stuck worse than him.

I already have the pinion seals, I will add the Transfer case ones to my parts on-hand. Should I just change them now, or wait to see if they give me trouble.

Speaking of giving me trouble, 4 of us went wheeling yesterday. Me, the Red Ram, White FJ and a late 80's locked Bronco. Well my neighbor with the Bronco and his wife had me and my wife over tonight...... They had THIS waiting for me. Awesome people! Riding my a$$ though, they were looking for a Matchbox land cruiser to Put in the "MUD".

I'm sure they will! That's all right, after I got out, I climbed some crazy steep canyon wall trails that nobody else in my group would even attempt to follow me up.

I plastidiped the grill but left the gold sombrero. I love the gold and I might be the only one on here who does. Took the seadoos out to Sardis Lake in MS

No Doubt! Note to self, get stronger shackles.
I'll give a shout out to forged made-in-USA Crosby, or Van Beest (Netherlands) green pin shackles. Although their 3/4" shackles are also 4.75T WLL, it's a number you can trust. They both have a 5:1 design-factor margin IIRC.

In any case you get to live and learn thankfully. Glad everybody's OK and just minor truck damage. Sometimes, luckily, we're only "almost killed"...:http://www.carscene.com.au/newsevents/milford/saveslife.htm

Washed it. Detailed the interior and treated the leather.

Duplicolor Natural White, spray paint, $7ish per can. Can of clear coat. Sand paper.

30 minutes and your bumper will look new.

Caught a golf ball-sized rock at 70mph straight to the headlight....

What front bumper is that?
It is custom. I've built all the armor. When I was building it I was pleasantly surprised that there is not a lot of junk under there that needs to be covered up. Most of the after market bumpers are so bulky, and for no reason. I always assumed there was a reason but I guess not.

I started to replace all the interior halogen light bulbs with LEDs. So far I've just done the map lights overhead but I ordered LEDs for all door courtesy lights, cargo lights in the rear, and license plate lights. However, once I took the bulb that illuminates the license plate out of its housing, I noticed burned plastic around where the bulb head would be. It's not much but this just shows how much heat halogen bulbs put out and I can see how it could be very bad if left unnoticed. Just a thought, you might want to check yours before you melt the whole housing and have to replace it.

Thanks guys, I have considered it but to make it worth while I would need to get it on a cnc. This is the first one I've built for the 100 series and was happy to find there is not a lot of junk under there to cover up so I could keep it low profile.

You'd have my money for the rear bumper, for sure. It's exactly what I had in mind, the perfect mix between BIOR high clearance and the solid look of the Slee. Same with the front. Awesome!

What have I done with my 100 this week? Well, I've been so busy- I got to drive it. Once. :(

Oh, wait- put a stop lamp bulb in...
